Donny, I agree with Ray. It's a nice, gentle song mate. The sibilant ESSES are pronounced though. I'd be inclined to address them as they jump out from the gentle backing and the general smoothness of your voice. This is an excellent song. Great vocal, lyrics and backing tracks. Get those esses under control and you will have a winner.

Summary (so far) of proven repeatable (by many) import into BIAB issues: - Wong Key <== root issue BIAB is importing in XML 3.0. All other apps are using 4.0. - Wrong Time signature <== root issue BIAB is importing in XML 3.0. All other apps are using 4.0. I don't believe this is the case - as far as I can tell there were no changes in the MusicXML 3.1 and 4.0 spec regarding key or time signature. These issues are separate, and we are working on them. From reading that page, it seems like the MusicXML 4.0 spec is mostly about adding new features rather than removing old ones. There are a few deprecated elements from the 3.0 spec, but as far as I can tell we don't use those. Any MusicXML file that doesn't use the new features is still considered v4.0 compliant, provided it also doesn't use the deprecated elements. I also brought it into Musecore and exported it as mxl 4.0 and strangely enough it was close to accurate when importing into BIAB. The only variation was an extra part break at the end of the song. The extra part at the end is basically the difference between how BB and MusicXML structure a song, in that BB operates as "choruses" with the 2-bar ending happening outside of that, where MusicXML simply writes a bar at a time. When exporting a MusicXML file from BB, there is no way of flagging a particular bar as the "ending", so when that file is imported into BB it imports everything as the "chorus" - then, if you have automatic 2 bar endings enabled, BB adds that after the imported data. Since we can't rewrite the MusicXML spec, the only workaround I can think of here is if we added a "song length" field when importing a MusicXML file, similar to the bar offset field. I'll add that as a feature request, but for now this problem is solved by manually changing the song length after importing an XML.

As Ron said, this a great slow dance song. Old vocal track? Vocal is excellent. I thought the balance between the vocal and instruments in the beginning before the guitar comes in was out of balance with the vocal too up front. Good write.

Another classic with 70's feel and lots of creativity. Cool piano breaks give time to breathe, actually, that piano sounds really great. And that cello in the bridge is powerful... what an interesting chord progression, maybe little Cranberries there... I enjoyed the vocals, reminded me of David Bowie. And when you sing the vivid imagery in the story, I can truly feel the mountains, high tides and "foggy outdoor slumber". "I sank to my knees/I can't go back" wow. Scott, Man this sounds really cool, and I don't want to sound too dated but it's because I have a huge vinyl collection and I collect vinyl and I like listening to old stuff the way other people go to the library. This kind of reminds me of some of the very earliest Elton John albums with Bernie Taupin before he really became a thing. There's this album called Friends that comes from a movie soundtrack by the same name and it's actually one of my favorites before he became too commercial. It's got that same gentle, epic but poetic tinge to it. Nice!! David, that is high praise. Thanks. I have some crate of my vinyl, but I don't have much time to listen to them. Maybe when I retire. For now, it's just Spotify and YouTube.

Hi Museeker! Take a look at your Driver Latency setting - this is under Options > MIDI/Audio Driver Setup. Try increasing the number there by 10, then click OK and play your song again - repeat as necessary until it's in sync. If BB prompts you with a suggested latency value, click No. Let us know if that helps!

I spend hours sometimes trying to isolate and accurately report issues and nothing changes I think I can't do this any more. You and me both brother! Nowadays I dunno which is more tiresome...yearly BIAB updates that never quite get finished or the incessant droning about Reaper and C++ and old guard and on and on and on. If I were PGM I'd have probably closed this forum, cleared the decks and required everyone interested to sign up again with new guidelines for conversations! I guess that's why I don't have a forum!  FWIW, I think the BIAB White Paper idea is a good one and the contributors have done something positive with it.
