Memo: This progression employs a classic 2-5 progression, which is used in many bebop tunes. This intro also leads to the IV chord, employing a cycle of 2-5's.
Memo: In this intro, we start with an ostinato pattern, which is something that tends to repeat. Here we are pedalling on the V in octaves. The left hand here inserts some interesting voicings of 4ths with major 2nds on top. The first half of this intro starts quite quietly and mysteriously, and then the second half is a little bit more direct and loud.
Memo: In this intro the left hand pedals on the V, using grace notes to add interest. In the right hand, single note melodies are played for the first three bars. In the fourth bar, a Dm9 and then a G7b9 are played.
