The Band-in-a-Box 2008.5 release has been a huge success! With the unveiling of 8 NEW RealTracks Sets with 44 RealTracks Instruments, your Band-in-a-Box song list is sure to grow! Don’t worry, all the MIDI choices are still there – just add a few Real Instruments to the equation, and you won’t believe your ears! In fact, with the new RealStyles, you can have up to 7 Real Instruments all at one in a single style! Updating Your Hard Drive - Made Easy!

The Band-in-a-Box 2008.5 Build 261 update patch adds new features and improvements since Build 260, and includes a re-designed RealDrums selection dialog, with filtering, sorting by column, information (name, genres, time signature, feel, tempo range,), and descriptive memos. There are also significant RealTracks updates that can be downloaded from our website, here.

With Band-in-a-Box available on the “Audiophile” Hard Drive AND the OmniPAK Hard Drive, we’ve made it simple to install the patch updates (as needed).The patch updates we make available add many features, and fixes reported bugs.

With your Hard Drive, when you install the update, you will need to point the installer to the correct location on the hard drive. That is, when asked to select your destination location, choose: ...’PGMusic’Programs’bb. For example, if the drive shows up as the G: drive, point it to G:’PGMusic’Programs’bb.

A Build 261 update patch is available for Band-in-a-Box 2008.5. The update (FREE for BB2008 users!) adds over 30 new features and improvements since Build 260! PG Music Goes to Germany!

The PG Music Marketing Team recently made its way to Frankfurt, Germany to attend Musikmesse, the world’s largest music trade fair with 112,00 visitors from 126 countries. We were there at the invitation of M3C Systemtechnik, our German distributor, to demonstrate Band-in-a-Box (a top seller in Germany!).

Over four exhilarating days we demonstrated Band-in-a-Box to a never-ending stream of visitors. The initial reaction of people who have never seen Band-in-a-Box before is always a treat to see, and it reminds us of the magic we felt ourselves the first time we heard Band-in-a-Box count in and start to play. Even long-time users were blown away by the newest features like the Audio Chord Wizard, RealDrums, RealTracks, and the Medley Maker -what a huge hit! “The RealDrums and RealTrack sounds are incredible!” and "It can figure out the chords from any wave file?" were typical of the comments we heard.

We got an unsolicited, but very welcome, assist from another M3C vendor and exhibitor, virtuoso guitarist Lance Reegan-Diehl. He was giving amazing Rock ’n’ Roll guitar demonstrations, and guess what program was he using for accompaniment? Band-in-a-Box, of course!

Thanks to all of the wonderful people of M3C for a splendid time at Musikmesse. It’s always a thrill, and it gives us a wonderful opportunity to connect with our global network of dealers and distributors, as well as enthusiastic Band-in-a-Box users from around the world!

Patch update for Band-in-a-Box 2007

Do you currently own Band-in-a-Box 2007? It's always a good idea to check and make sure you have the most recent patch update for this and other PG Music programs. The latest build of Band-in-a-Box 2007 is build 226. To check and see if you have this build, open your Band-in-a-Box program, go to the "Help" menu and select "About Band-in-a-Box". It should then open a dialog box that will have information about the program, including the version number. It will say Version 2007 (xxx), where xxx is a three digit number. If it says "226", then you're OK until the next update is available. If it's a lower number than 226, you can download the free update at http://www.pgmusic.com/support_windowsupdates.htm#226.
