RealBand is a new program that combines the most popular features from PG Music's PowerTracks Pro Audio and Band-in-a-Box programs into an all-in-one sequencing program with automatic accompaniment.

With RealBand you can create an arrangement with Band-in-a-Box tracks; type in the chords, add RealTracks and RealDrums that follow the chord changes, add your own tracks, and then edit and produce the finished song without ever leaving the program!

With intelligent automatic arrangements, RealTracks live instrument tracks, RealDrums live drum tracks, the amazing Audio Chord Wizard, seamlessly integrated digital audio/MIDI recording, built-in DirectX effects, and notation, RealBand turns a typical PC into a music production powerhouse.

This is an exciting new series of 50 Duets, each designed specifically by Miles Black for sight-reading practice. Both parts have an independent contrapuntal melody, so you feel like you have a real playing partner at your side. Each of the 5 genres, Classical, Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Bebop and Rock includes 10 great contrapuntal melodies. With one melody line recorded on the Melody track and the second on the Soloist track, it's easy to see and hear what each part is playing. Mute one melody and play along with the other, then reverse the roles and sight-read the other part. Also included is a folder with the 50 Duets transposed into all 12 keys. This is a fantastic way to improve your sight-reading!

Have you ever noticed how much easier and fun it is practicing along with another musician? Whether you're working on your sight-reading, or learning a new piece of music, you can often make a lot more progress when someone else is practicing with you.

The purpose of the "Duets" series is to provide the Band in a Box user with a more inspiring way to practice! This program contains 50 original Duets. They are divided into five stylistic genres of music: Bebop, Classical, Rock, Smooth Jazz, and (Mainstream) Jazz. The user simply prints out their melody part, and Band in a Box will provide the accompaniment using great sounding styles along with a harmony-counterpoint part.

Or, just open up the Leadsheet window, hold down the Ctrl key and select M (Melody) and S (Soloist) if you want to display both parts. These are the two separate tracks for the Duets. If the computer is your Duet partner - which is the whole idea - you need only display the part you are playing. Don't forget to set the "Scroll-ahead" to the desired setting so you will have an automatic page turner.

Before you know it, your sight-reading will improve and you'll gain a deeper understanding of how to play stylistically within each genre.
