Is it possible to convert melody or solo notation (MIDI input) into guitar Tablature? I believe it is, but I can't find the menu option and help is far from obvious. cry

In the standard notation view, you have an option for the guitar tablature.
I don't know if it worth it because I don't use this feature.

lambada,

Elaborating on what John-Luke said...

If you go into Notation Mode and then select the "Opt" button, you'll find the "TAB" option.

For the vast majority of guitar players worldwide tab is the way we all read music.......

So we think this is a fantastic feature that is well worth it!

You have to be careful though. The tab for the chords is often set way up the neck, which is fine for some players, but not all of us know that many variations of any chord. You rarely see a chord based in the root position. It is probably a good learning tool, but I have never found it particularly useful.

I may be misunderstanding what's this post is about. But anyway, I have found both the tab and the guitar fretboard to be very useful. Also with the fretboard and Preferences one can adjust what position they want the chords to be played in.

It's also quite easy to transpose a chord that is played up high on the neck to a lower position...... Of course for beginners in people with limited experience that may not be the case

And yes agreed upon the fact that it is incredible learning tool.

Plus we can see in real tracks what big name players are playing!

If someone wants to print out the tab and put it on a music stand and play the song........ It will definitely have to be edited and tweaked........ Maybe that is what the posters that said it is not useful are talking about?
