Could you pls help explain?

So far, I still simply drag each files from the BIAB to my DAW. I rarely use the DAW plugin.

What is the advantage of the BIAB DAW plugin and when should you use it?

The Band-in-a-Box plugin uses the DAW audio engine for audio playback so there is less chance of experiencing audio conflicts as sometimes happens when multiple programs try to share audio resources.

You can open Band-in-a-Box song files, edit a song file, try different styles and generate additional tracks without having to open the Band-in-a-Box program. For some people it make a difference hearing the Band-in-a-Box tracks playback in context with prerecorded DAW tracks.
