I occasionally come across "+1" in the forum. Excuse the ignorance, but what on earth does it mean?
It means someone agrees with what someone else just said.
FORUM MEMBER ONE: "I love cheeseburgers so much!"
FORUM MEMBER TWO: "+1!!"
Think of it as adding another vote in support of the post above.
It's useful when can't think of any original words or ideas.
If you do not concur, is that -1 ?
Thanks, everybody. I think I've got it!
Mike
Actually it is the square root of -1 squared (I think)
It is like saying "Me Too".
Funny, "Me Too" posts are deplored by some, but +1 is acceptable - go figure!
Either one is OK with me.

Without a superscript 2 there, that would be a mere fizzle if you could even get the process to start, which you couldn't.
What is says is that the Energy is equal to the Mass multiplied by the Constant times Two.
Works much better if the thing is squared, 'K?
In ASCII, easy enough to do:
E=mc^2
There.
Now you can go boom with a real bright flash of light accompanied by one big A electromagnetic pulse.
