I love showtunes. grin There I admitted it! crazy I feel better now.

A good showtune has a way of planting itself in your brain and remaining there for years and years. It can find a way to pop up at the most unusual and unexpected times.

I recently traveled to Seymour Indiana, the home of John Cougar Mellencamp and this came to mind and has been stuck in my minds playback for the past several weeks.

Good for you. A real man is not to proud to admit he loves show tunes. And going right to the Julie Andrews card, nice play.

Opps, My bad, YouTube had moved over to the next video when I switched screens and there was Julie. But of course you do know that Natalie Wood's singing was dubbed by Marni Nixon. Natalie did look wonderful though... grin

Marni sang some favorites. The King And I for just one.

She also had a talented son.

I also have original sheet music hits from Broadway & Movies...my Mom, a piano player, and I...collected what we could over the years. Here they still "reside" in my 36' RV parked in Homosassa, Fl., along with my axes, keyboards, guitars, etc.

As a singer and musician, what a Goldmine of Classics I love!!

The Sound of Music.....

Just the thought of that sends shivers down my spine.

Another favorite show tune:

The King Of The High C's

"Who stands before you, and what I do,
How I make my living. May I?
Who am I? What am I? I am a poet.
What keeps me busy? Writing! And what do I live on? Nothing!
In poverty I'm cheerful, I am a prince who squanders
Arias and couplets of longing."
