Hi Musician,

nice version. Solid work.
I remember I did a version of Air in 2012.
Maybe you are interested in listening to it.

Air

Kind regards

WOW, James. You know I too love the music of JSB. This is an excellent rendition of Air in D. I really enjoy how the BiaB bass handled it --even somewhat contrapuntal at times. Excellent choice, and I'd love to hear some live violin in there. wink I once did Bach's Prelude #1 in C Major on a bass. Very very difficult and great practice. Beautifully done, James.

Hello James,

I always thought you were from the 'spoken' sad songs, not the classic ones.
At first we heard Anne-Marie singing a Verdi song, now you play Bach. Maybe I will try Bochelli (as a starter)?

Air was once played by a Dutch Rock band called Focus. It was a worldwide hit. Do you know it?
But you did a very good job on playing that song too. It is a difficult song.
I only think the beat and the bass cut off a bit of the sensibility, if you know what I mean.
That gave it a littlebit the feeling of an old man was trudging through the snow.
and I would like more volume on the (grand) piano.

But in summary, the bottom line is that you did a good job!

Hans

Focus were huge in Australia.

James, the best thing about this is that the melody is done so well & with such a lovely tone.
I guess, in this game of song superheroes you can "call dibs" on the Terminator quote.
Lovely.

James this was fantastic!
You should definitely do more instrumentals.
Super mix.

Lovely version of the song. Well done.

As others said, a pleasant listen.

It's like you hired a jazz band that can't quite help but add a little syncopation, even when they shouldn't. wink

Thanks, each one of you, for your kind comments!

Hans: you were right, something was off with the arrangement, be it the drums or something else ... so I've basically re-done it! I hope it sounds better now? See what you think :-)

dcuny: the syncopation was on purpose :-) I selected a swinging style, against an even style in the solo melody ... et voila! haha. See what you think of the new version? Thanks for listening!!!

THANKS, one and all!!!

We've always admired such music but lack the knowledge to offer deep comments smile

So suffice it to say that it was lovely, remarkably well arranged and mixed.

Sublime,

James,

A very pretty rendition of a classic. Amazing how BIAB can be used to even do a rendition of Back, and very well. Like the jazzy feel you have given it. The mix itself is outstanding. Very clear, very compelling. Well done!

Lovely. Mesmerized by that walking bass. It fit very well.

Janice and Bud: thank you. You're too modest :-) and music is music, anyway. I don't like that "mystique" that some like to "hide" behind, haha. If you've got a taste for music, that's enough, for me :-) Thanks so much for such kind comments!

Deej: thank you. BIAB is great, isn't it? :-)

olemon: I LOVE that bass line, that's why I chose it ... a "swing-y" bass, against an even piano and melody. Seems to have worked :-) Thanks so much for listening!

Creatively arranged and professionally mixed.
Great job!

Don't know how you do it, James. This is an avenue we haven't heard much of from you. Great potential for more.

Thanks, BassThumper, Ed, Tom and Vic. You are all far, far too kind - I only arranged Bach's sublime piece, of course.
