Hi All,
Here's a new little folk song inspired by my affinity for the radio and its connection to my life in New York throughout the years…
Hey RadioAll BIAB and GarageBand.
Thanks for listening!
Bob
"And if time could sing
It would have whispered in stereo"
Love that line, Bob...
Good mix. A good listen. Strong vocal. The instrumentation carries the song well...
Enjoyed it..
floyd
Floyd,
Thanks very much - appreciate the kind words.
Bob
I like the clean approach you took here with the arrangement. All the percussion and simple, sparse guitar.
much enjoyed!
Hi Bob. Interesting writing, as always from you!! Really dig the vibe. I assume the Fall day was 9/11/01-burned into all of our memories. This song is a really interesting tribute. Although I'm not crazy about much of the music on the radio anymore, radio definitely has been a mainstay in my life (these days talk radio more). There is something about the connectedness that's compelling. Not as big and pervasive as the web but more intimate. Thanks for sharing this interesting and enjoyable song! And, there were your signature congas again, and again fitting in perfectly! Take care. Greg
Hi Bob,
Another very enjoyable listen. The groove, the melody and the vibe all collaborated to really pull me into this one. Nice work. I thought the mix was great and your presentation was perfect for the genre.
Regards,
Noel
Hi, Bob !
Seems to me it has to
be a Bob to come up
with such brilliant
lyrics ! To me you are
a greater show than Dylan
himself !:))
I guess we all miss
radio times !!!
I liked everything about
this folk tune of yours !
Cheers
Dani

Hi Bob,
This is brilliant!
Hey radio took me from the first phrase, to the end.
Very well produced, every note counts, not one sound or note to many!
Loved the production, and you use your voice very efficiently.
Well done!

F
Lawrence,
Thanks very much.

Greg,
Yes, I remember taking the train home to Long Island from NYC that day - I had a small digital radio that I used to keep in my bag - listened to that the whole way home.
I still find a link to radio no matter where I go - still means a lot to me.
Thanks so much for listening and your kind words.
Bob
Noel,
Much appreciated.
Bob
Dani,
That's very kind of you - much appreciated.
Bob
This is fantastic! I really like the sparse instrumentation in this. This song is so strong that it does not need anything else.
Your vocal was perfect, the lyrics outstanding and the mix was super.
Hey Bob,
Some good stuff there! I thought it was a great mix & vocal. Really enjoyed it.
Good Job,
Greg
Fred,

Bob
Loved it. Nice write and performance.
Charlie
Tom,
Much appreciated as always.
Bob
Charlie,
Thanks very much.
Bob
Nice sound, evocative lyrics and good singing. I like the spareness of the sound, and the percussion in the back.
Your songs make me think of poems set to music (in a good way), and this arrangement works really well with this song.
David,
Much appreciated - thanks.
Bob
Greg,
Thanks - very appreciated.
Bob
This is pretty cool. I found myself letting it play in the background while I did some other stuff, just simple easy to listen to, no pretension. Smooth and pleasant. to offer critique, I would not have used so much time between lines and you are certainly no vocalist, but hey, neither was Dylan, it's not a major problem in this style of music which I think you pulled off very nicely. Fun!
Joe,
Thanks for listening - appreciate the feedback.
Bob
Like floyd alluded to
"And if time could sing
It would have whispered in stereo"
really nailed it for us.
And, man, do we enjoy your
stripped down, no meat left on
the bone, productions. They
are incredibly effective and have
definitely influenced our approach
of late.
Great sound on your vocal also.
Got this on our itunes "internet radio"
play list!
J&B
PS You are a vocalist
Janice & Bud,
That is very kind of you - thanks much. I'm a big fan your music and think you are doing some really incredible things...
Bob
Robert,
That song ended too soon, I was enjoying it and was sad when it stopped!! so I pressed play again.
You have a distinctive sound, excellent.
keep 'em coming
Alyn
Bob,
I really enjoyed this song. The sparse production as others have commented was perfect and your vocals had plenty of room to fill out the mix. Great lyrics too. Excellent job, thanks for sharing.
Rec
Alyn,
I really appreciate that - thanks.
Bob
Rec,
Thanks - that is very appreciated.
Bob
Hey Bob,
As your duo partner, call me partial but I've always known what a great vocal stylist you are and I'm always glad to hear others also perking up their ears on that point.
This song and your last one as well have a great Folk Coffee House sound - like I'm right there with you sitting in the back shadows taking it all in.
Josie
Hey Josie,
Thanks so much - that means a lot.
Bob
Thanks again all - here's a "low-tech" video to accompany the song...
