A very catchy melody that's reminiscent of the folk genre. I had your original post tagged for comment. Now that you've posted here, though, I'll comment here (and feel less embarrassed for being so incredibly late).

These lyrics really stood out to me ...

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the listen. I was fascinated by the simile "Like an echo going round the room" and how it changed its colour so effectively with each verse: a great hook!
