Flying Off The Handle

I told him that I loved him
But he didn’t want to know
I said why don’t we hit the road?
But he didn’t want to go
Maybe I’m too sensitive
Though I try to keep my head
Flying off the handle
Over something that he said

Chorus:
I’m flying off the handle
Saying things that I’ll regret
He’s calling it a scandal
We’re going head to head
Flying off the handle
Insults are exchanged
Flying off the handle
Like we’re on the firing range

Verse:
I told him I was sorry
And that I would make amends
He said it’s time for moving on
But I hope we’ll still be friends
Maybe when we meet again
You’ll greet me with a smile
But for now let’s cut our losses
And not go that extra mile

Chorus:
We’d be flying off the handle
Saying things that we’d regret
Calling it a scandal
Going head to head
Flying off the handle
Words would be exchanged
Flying off the handle
That’s never going to change

Bridge:
Words that boil and words that freeze
Words that bring us to our knees
Sticks and stones may take their tole
But words can calcify your soul

Verse:
I told him that I loved him
But he didn’t want to know
I said why don’t we hit the road?
But he didn’t want to go
Maybe I’m too sensitive
Though I try to keep my head
Flying off the handle
Over something that he said

Chorus:
I’m flying off the handle
Saying things that I’ll regret
Behaving like a vandal
Talking blue and seeing red
Flying off the handle
Insults are exchanged
Flying off the handle
Like we’re on the firing range
Peter and Janice and Bud,

Nice start! And another singing lesson from Janice!

so true

wonderful guitar work, Peter.

another wonderful collab

Alyn
Beautiful collaboration. Super vocal and lyric and music were excellent

This was a collaboration made in ‘Bluesville’ that secret place where you find things ‘click’ perfect song, lyrics, and singer, but then these three know the way there, they have been there before. Top Notch stuff

Thank you Alyn. That is very kind.

Janice
Peter/Leon/Janice.....

Well done. Interesting lyric - set to a melody that works well.

Good mix. Nice guitar work throughout. (that's a lot of slide). The solos were really nice... The drums are well done, too...

Super vocal.

A terrific listen.

Peter and Leon,

This is a brilliant composition! Love the guitar work too!
I don't need any singing lessons, but if I did I would surely turn to Janice ;-)
Because once again she's demonstrating her true singing talents here!

Wow!!!! This is REALLY good!! Super awesome everything. Great song, great vocals, great guitar, you name it. I loved this one!!

Stunning.
Loving the interplay between the electric guitar and bass in the beginning. Real nice vocal, too, Janice puts a lot of character into that delivery! The outro solo is great too, and really ties the whole thing together.
Hello, Peter and Janice and Bud

Very nice and strong start. Guitar is so nice.
Though the chord progressions are likely used in 12/8 time songs, you use them in the 8 beat.
It sounds pleasant and it's something new.
Janice's vocal is great and Bud's mixing is superb.
Very enjoyable listen.

Best Regards.

Peter, Janice and Bud,

Another great song and performances all around.
That guitar sound fits beautifully alongside Janice's oh so smooth vocals.

Superb!

Peter, Janice and Bud, you know I love the Blues, so there is little not to like here for me. Excellent guitar, perfect vocal, interesting chord progression, good lyrics and good production. What's not to like. Keeping the blues alive and well on the forum. Bravo! Tom

Janice's heartfelt vocal, Peter's jammin' guitar. What else do you need??? And a very cool write on top of that. Some fun, clever rhymes and a great melody. Awesome job on everything guys!! Take care. Greg
Great playing and loved the vocal Janice!
Great collaboration. Excellent write, mix, arrangement and production. Perfect song for Janice's over the top vocals.

This is a nice showcase for the guitar work as well...

I couldn't say it any better. Plus as Alyn said "And another singing lesson from Janice!" is so true.

Peter I really loved that guitar lead and the slide work - great stuff.

As I also love the blues, especially like this that is extremely well done, I must say that this is a keeper.

This is a bit late, but I wanted to say I love this song.

Great singing Janice, Great melody Peter! The collaboration really did spark something special.

The lyrics remind me of a close friend I have who..I tend to butt heads with sometimes and they really hit home.

A great music and a great vocal.
Excellent guitar tone and a style of playing that remember me in some momemts Eric Clapton.

What a great collaboration.
You guys have really delivered.
Really liked the lyrics. The rhyming style is great and the guitar solo loked everything together.
