Here is a new song. It is a collaboration with Robert Cordrey supplying the lyrics and beautiful vocal by Greg Johnson.

It started out as an instrumental in late December but as I was finishing it, I decided t to send it to Robert to see if it was suitable for lyrics. He sent back a demo with the most beautiful lyrics and vocal. Robert suggested that it maybe more suitable with a female vocal. I thought it would be perfect for Greg and he graciously accepted.

Wonderland

V1

the angel of time
made you a swing a swing
from braids of her dark hair
as she did sing sing
one rope round tomorrow
the other yesterday
between yet to be and might have been
you and I will play

V2

your toes point to the moon
as you ascend ascend
as your eyes close I`ll spin globe
our game won`t end won`t end
kick out your heels
the world wheels a little more
what do you see
as you soar

C

down there Easter Island
isn`t that the London Eye
a patchwork planet
sailing by
now we`re above your castle in the sand
dont you agree
its a wonderland wonderland

V3

the angel of time
made you a swing a swing
from braids of her dark hair
as she did sing sing
kickout your heels
the world wheels a little more
between yet to be and might have been
you and I will soar

C

hold Stonehenge in your hand
don`t miss the northern lights
a patchwork planet
sailing by
now we`re above your castle in the sand
don`t you agree
its a wonderland wonderland

Hehehehehe.

This song is so mellow I had trouble following the lyrics because I just kept drifting off to some happy place. smile
Scott,Robert,Greg

A lovely collaboration - serene and uplifting.
Everything comes together beautifully, the lyric the vocal the guitar and the melody.
Great work all round.

Peter

Very melodic great effort all. Enjoyed this. Rob
Scott, Robert & Greg,

Wonderland is wonderful! Great collaboration - the sound is magical. The lyrics, melody, tracks, vocal - everything fits together so perfectly.

Excellent job all!

Bob
Cool lyrics, great vocal. Love the tone on your guitar, Scott.

Nice one, guys, enjoyed the listen!
Scott, Robert & Greg,

A very cool collaboration. A good write, a beautiful vocal and nice guitar work.

"between yet to be and might have been" - loved that line, Robert...

Nice music. Overall the mix is good. Early on, the vocal seemed too low - then toward the end my ear got accustomed to its level. But I think it might need to come up slightly.

Nice, y'all. This forum is SO cool!

When I saw the line up I knew this was going to be good. In fact, it's much better than that, it's great.

Very melodic, extremely well produced.

Another winner.
Wow - you guys made something beautiful here smile It is so serene and ethereal. It just has such a cozy vibe - and also, I think Greg did an incredible job with the vocals. Not a thing I'd change here - you guys nailed it.

An incredible collaboration for sure - great work and thanks for sharing!
Those are some very good lyrics. You chose the right guy to sing this one. Very dreamy, floating vibe. Some really nice guitar work. A fine collab by three fine writers and musicians, Tom
Scott had already named the instrumental he sent me and the melody
fit nicely with a lullaby I started years ago... having that Wonderland word gave me the way to finish. Motto: be a packrat with your writing- everything can be remade!
Thanks for the positive comments everyone.

Thanks David. I see I did not word the part about Robert and I figuring out the vocal as the song in its original key was very high. I felt that Greg's vocal ability is so smooth and his range would really be good for the song. So glad you liked it..
Wonderful collaboration! On the music side, I liked the 6/8 tempo and all the little add-in's, like the organ and the female ahh's..lyric very mystical, introspective, evocative. Great job!!
Fantastic song guys, well produced and super lyrics as well

Scott, Robert & Greg, this is one of the best songs that I have heard on this site! Everything about this one is perfect.

Wonderland was the perfect 3:45 minute vacation for me today.

This is a keeper.
Great collaboration combines Robert's poetic lyrics to Scott's beautiful melody and Greg's wonderful voice soars it above Earth and sails on the blue seas. I definitely agree, it's a wonderland smile

Thanks for checking out the song. Glad you liked it.
Floating, mesmerizing, ethereal quickly come to mind. Then the lyric of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds drifted by and then Janice mentioned the almost Brian Wilson feel to the vocal.

This is what happens when the stars line (literally and figuratively) up for a collab. The write, the vocal and the guitar all seemed destined for this production. And a production that is superbly presented.

Outstanding!

J&B

Beautiful song and very well done by all.
Makes me think of Watership Down and Mike Batt somehow.
Good stuff.

Cheers.
Wow, wow, wow! This collaboration just blew me away. You guys really made this song come to life. Great sound, great vocals, and a lot of heart.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks allot Was really excited to work with Robert and Greg. Two very talented musicians.
Very cool tune. Excellent vocals . Super backtrack.. Guitar was excellent
Lovely stuff. It reminded me of Richard Hawley - the combination of lyrical guitar and crooned vocal. Have a listen to the man if you get a chance - the best of his is the Sky's Edge LP but it's also more aggressive. almost any of his LPs would do as a reference point though.
Oh, he LOVES reverb.
Well done - you're produced xxcellent stuff.

Thank you Rayc for the awesome compliments. Between Roberts lyrics and Greg's excellent delivery made mu song so very special. Thanks for listening and your comments are very much appreciated.
It was a pleasure to work with these guys. I have always been a big fan of Robert's abstract poetic writing and Scott's sweet, melodic guitar playing. Very glad to have been a part of this. Thanks for bringing me aboard guys! Take care. Greg

Scott, Robert and Greg,

I totally agree Trevor.

Robert, your lyrics enchanted me and I found myself thinking that these words are mysteriously ethereal. They hypnotised me. I really liked the lines...

Greg, your singing is superb and the perfect vehicle for the song. Scott was right. Your sense of melody shines with these words.... especially the repetitions. You took the song somewhere truly pleasant and peaceful. It was beautiful to listen to.

Scott, you've done a fantastic job creating this music. The composition, its arrangement and its mix sit very, very comfortably in my headphones. I thoroughly enjoyed drifting along with the flow of the music.

I'm heading back for another listen, now.

All the best to everyone,
Noel

What a nice surprise to see this song pop up again. I was so blessed to have Robert write the lyrics and help me mix this song and have Greg sing it. Thanks so much.
