LYRICS:

Well, hello again; you look, to me, just the same;
Hope you'll forgive me if I don't say your name.
You look so beautiful; your locks glow like the sun;
I hear you're happy; and in love with another man.

Me? I'm the same, I guess; I watch the world pass by,
I loved but once; never again, until I die.
Forever young, I will therefore be,
While others fall in love and be happy.

[BRIDGE]

I wish you well; I hear you're with child;
I hope that he grows up to be gentle and kind;
And when he meets a girl, let his love joyful be,
Let him not live through things like what you did to me.

[BRIDGE]

I must go now - for yonder dawn now breaks
And ghosts of times gone past now leave must take;
The candle's out, I'm sorry I cannot
Remain in touch ... we are but best forgot.

Nicely done, James smile I found the lyrics here particularly poetic, and your delivery really lends merit to that. I loved the instrumentation - it flows with your vocals beautifully and I found the whole tune to be quite touching.

Thanks for sharing!

I really enjoyed the lyrics.

Well, hello again; you look, to me, just the same;
Hope you'll forgive me if I don't say your name.

Love is an interesting creature, and it's crazy to think how much power a name can have.

Really great tune overall! Thanks for posting it up on the forum for us to see.

Thanks Ember - especially for your comment about the lyrics. I completely agree ... a name can be so powerful ... and that's perhaps why the man in the lyrics avoids even saying it, for too many different reasons that are perhaps best left to the listener to imagine and thus perhaps figure out. Again, thanks for listening!

It's hard to add to what Ember expressed. She touched on the first thing we thought.
Yes, the power in a name is immense.

Whether this is autobiographical or not it is spoken with a soulful and heartfelt delivery.

And your choice of a musical bed works very well.

Kudos!

Hello James,

that was a very moving listen - I think there will be many who can relate to that experience.

You recitation is totally convincing and reflects the emotion of the lyrics so soulfully.

Very appealing harmonic progressions, great choice of RealStyle - very well done !!!

Regards,

Stefan

James,

A good backing track. An emotional lyric, well spoken.
(I thought the music could have been just slightly louder).

Thanks both, Stefan and floyd jane - great to see that people can relate to these lyrics and chords. I'll have another listen in a few hours and see if I can perhaps balance music and spoken words better - but I'm glad you liked it ... and very grateful.
