This song has got to be one of my favorite Christmas songs. I loved it as a child and still marvel at the beauty of this music.

I'm playing the guitars, the mandolin, and holding down the vocal duties.

Silent Night

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Merry Christmas to all.

Hi Herb ...

The is my second favorite Christmas hymn. My favorite is O Holy Night.

What a tender arrangement and performance. Love the mandolin in particular. Your vocal expresses so well the passion and spirit of the lyric. Also really enjoyed the acoustic lead. That was really nice listen!

Merry Christmas and wishing you a really great 20121 from both of us.

Thanks Al & Do.

I'm with you on Oh Holy Night. I've not tried that song yet. I'm not sure I could do it justice. Years ago, at the church I was attending, I had the honor of knowing and singing with a lady who had a most amazing voice. I'm not sure if she was classically trained, but I wouldn't have doubted it. We did a few duets here and there, however, it was her rendition of oh holy night that I will always remember. I didn't sing it with her. I played a picked, not strummed, acoustic guitar. In spite of Her natural ability, her confidence in Her ability was lacking at times. During rehearsal, she would defer to the lower easy to hit note towards the end. I encouraged her to go for it. Her voice was the most amazing thing.... I had chills, in a good way when she went for and hit the high note. She hit that note dead on and strong.... Total silence.... Then she came back in .... And I joined as she ended the song. There were a few seconds of dead silence when the song was finished....then....

Standing ovation.

Her smile said it all.

Good memories.

Merry Christmas to you both

I will have to look back in my files and find the original BB file to get the info you're asking about.

Stay tuned.... Thanks for listening and commenting. I probably won't be putting it on YouTube anytime soon. Sorry.

Well done. Lovely recording. Everything sounds good. Your guitar, et. al, work is outstanding as usual. The band has the spirit too.

My favorite Christmas song changes from year to year. This year's favorite is Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas as sung by Judy Garland.

I suppose my favorite religious carol is Hark the Harold or Silent Night (your version leads the way this year).

Merry Christmas.

My favorites tend to rotate a bit too but this one is always in the top two or three.

Thanks for listening. Merry Christmas

Absolutely beautiful. Loved the arrangement and the chord harmonies. Vocals and vocal harmonies were so heart0felt and comforting...especially the low notes. Wonderful play on mando and acoustic. Terrific phrasing and interplay with the rest of the band. Just really a wonderful version.

My fav, too, Herb. A very moving version here. Amazing how well it's produced with each of the instruments cutting through at the right time. Wonderful playing and the voices really lift it to the highest level. This song is the one I sang to my daughter and then granddaughter that put them to sleep. This version will wake them to the beauty. Well done!
This is a beautiful rendition of this classic - really stunning, and lush and gorgeous on the ears. Thought it was perfectly mixed too. You made it very moving to listen to. Thanks for sharing smile

It's always nice to have the staff comment on my songs. Thank you. Ear candy is good. I find myself listening to this song throughout the year for that very reason. I'm glad this touched your soul. That's what music is supposed to do. Glad you enjoyed this song.

Guitarhacker,

Actually, this is one of my least favorite traditional Christmas songs (I’m with Al on O Holy Night) . . . but you’ve done an excellent job on this . . . almost enough to change my mind, LOL! Beautiful playing on this and the vocal really falls nicely into the mix—warm and engaging. Nicely done!

All my best,

Deej

Nice vocal and instrumental performances!

This tune always reminds me of hearing carolers when
I was a child. Every year you could always count on this
song being presented. This would've been in the
early to mid 50's. I remember this song and I remember
being cold smile

Have a great and safe Christmas!

Merry Christmas to everyone. I do appreciate your comments and I enjoy listening to the music you all make.

2020 has been a trying year that inspired me to write a few songs that I wouldn't have written otherwise.

Flatten the curve, and of course..who can forget the almost famous.... She got the corona and I got the line.

Soon we'll see if 2021 lets us get back to normal or.... If it will kick 2020's butt....and inspire more songs of rebellion.

Anyway..... Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year to you all.
