Hi Herb ...
The is my second favorite Christmas hymn. My favorite is O Holy Night.
What a tender arrangement and performance. Love the mandolin in particular. Your vocal expresses so well the passion and spirit of the lyric. Also really enjoyed the acoustic lead. That was really nice listen!
Merry Christmas and wishing you a really great 20121 from both of us.

Thanks Al & Do.
I'm with you on Oh Holy Night. I've not tried that song yet. I'm not sure I could do it justice. Years ago, at the church I was attending, I had the honor of knowing and singing with a lady who had a most amazing voice. I'm not sure if she was classically trained, but I wouldn't have doubted it. We did a few duets here and there, however, it was her rendition of oh holy night that I will always remember. I didn't sing it with her. I played a picked, not strummed, acoustic guitar. In spite of Her natural ability, her confidence in Her ability was lacking at times. During rehearsal, she would defer to the lower easy to hit note towards the end. I encouraged her to go for it. Her voice was the most amazing thing.... I had chills, in a good way when she went for and hit the high note. She hit that note dead on and strong.... Total silence.... Then she came back in .... And I joined as she ended the song. There were a few seconds of dead silence when the song was finished....then....
Standing ovation.
Her smile said it all.
Good memories.
Merry Christmas to you both
