Back to the Basics After my last couple of songs I thought that I should get back to the basics so here is a simple blues number.
BiaB style = Burdened Slow 12-8 MIDI Blues
Tempo = 60 BPM
I deleted the bass.
Piano - Keys of the 70's - Piano C5
Strings - UVI - B5 Organ
Drums - BlueJay Drums
I am playing the:
Bass - Squire P-Bass through Amplitube
Guitar - Xaviere P-90 guitar through Amplitube
Harmonica - via my keyboard controller - Kontakt - Chris Hiens Chromatic Harmonica
Oh, yeah!! Basically excellent, Mario. I once played in a band I called Blues' Branches because EVERY song stems from the blues. That harmonica sounds really good coming from a controller. Chromatic not diatonic, like Toots Thieleman playing the blues. The guitar has so much feeling and taste.
Really cool little tune Mario!
It sounds like it could be in the background of an old James Garner or Burt Reynolds movie (the moon-shiner cowboy bar scene genre).
Nice performances.
For us blues is all about soul irrespective of the number and/or complexity of the chords. A simple progression is fine.
And this has soul in spades!

Mario,
An outstanding blues tune... Awesome playing and mix.
The harmonica track is a real standout.
Excellent!

Mario,
Nice laid back blues tune! Harmonica through your controller sounds very convincing. Nice bass too. Has a good live feel.
Thank you for sharing.
Misha.
Very tasty blues arrangement and playing Mario.

Hi Mario,
Well, this is a bit different from your side, but very, very pleasing.
The harmonica really makes the melody!
Your own made bass is very good, but only because I am curious: why did you remove the bass from BiaB. couldn't you find a proper one?
Cheers,
Hans
Cool groove to this Mario. Loved the harp. Guitar was excellet. Cool tone. Well done
Hi Mario,
You can't go wrong with a good slow Blues - especially in 12/8.
I particularly like the Blues Harp which has a lovely haunting tone.
Well Done
Best Regards
Nigel
Nice one. Production is great. Everything is so clear. The harmonica is "well played". Great guitar work. Nice.
Perfect for a long drive home to unwind from the day Mario! Love the slow laid back vibe! Very nice job on the instruments you played! You got me wanting to try a blues tune but I'm afraid Dave and Marty might be listening lol. Take care, Torrey
Nice one !! easy relaxing and that harmonica !! that was good work on your controller ! Defo !!.
Thanks
Hi Mario, basics or not, this is a great blues tune. Very well played.
Mike. B.
Sounds great Mario!
Thanx everyone for taking the time to listen and comment on this little ditty. I greatly appreciate all of the comments.

I just like to play my instruments. I know that I am nowhere as good as what BiaB can give me but I get more enjoyment in playing then in auditioning various BiaB parts. Sometimes I take what BiaB gives and other times I just want to play my instrument. This was one of those times.
Nice blues tune, always wondered what that Chris Hein harmonica sounded like, so thanks!
Good Blue tune, Mario.
Nice job on all the parts...

This is so very soothing. very pleasant to the ears Mario
Hi Mario,
I was not expecting a blues track from you, but it is nice that you try out different genres. You did well with this track... it got that lovely laidback feeling to it that I think of when listening to blues music.
Enjoyed it a lot!
Will
Mario, I really enjoyed this.
Love a good slow blues and that harmonica line is heartfelt.
Thanx Marty, Will, and Mark for listening and commenting.
Will, I am basically a blues or jazz blues guitarist. For years I had a jazz blues trio consisting of a B3, drums, and guitar (me).
Mark, I was watching that Chris Hein's harmonica for quite a while and when it when on sale I got it. It is the most realistic harmonica VSTi that I have ever heard.
Sounds great Mario. I particularly like the addition of the harmonica. I was singing along and making up lyrics while listening. Something about a train whistle and heading to California to pick some crops.

Thanx Frank.
If you want to put lyrics to this just let me know and I can send you the stems or if you wish send me your vocal and I will do the mixing. Your choice.
Just an enjoyable listen ... I see trains and horses and other old west imagery.
Almost had forgotten what a blues man you are, Mario. How cool to have developed your own signature.
Hi MarioD,
It is a very pretty composition that you deposit. I really enjoyed playing the harmonica. It is very pleasant and very soft to listen to. Well done.
Best regard

Oh, then I would like to hear more from you in this genre... although you also do an amazing job when exploring the chillout/ambient genre (which is very much my cup of tea).
Again... good job with this track!
