The arrangement & melody are almost as expected for the genre. The Changes for the chorus are nice and lift the song well.
Lyrically it's full of cliche but the topic is hard to bring original similes and metaphors to so the narrative works well with the available imagery.

This is a beautiful tribute, Dewey.

We visit our local Veterans Cemetery weekly and this Memorial Day the tears did flow when we saw small American flags by all those many headstones.
