Lost in the Wilderness

You are lost in the woods and you are afraid. You finally get your courage and find a way out of the woods.

Some of the leads are a lot like some of my other songs. The chords have been changed to protect the innocent! If you get that then you are as old as I am!

BiaB style = Orchestral 4/4 w/harp
Tempo = 45 BPM

Bass - Kontakt - Kirk Hunter - Virtuoso bass
Piano - Kontakt - Glass Gong
Guitar - Kontakt - Kirk Hunter - Virtuoso strings
Strings = Kontakt - Amadeus Full String Ensemble
Flute - Kontakt - Fairytale Flute
Solo Cello - Kontakt - Amadeus solo cello
Choir = EastWest - Symphonic Choir - full choir
Solo Violin - Kontakt - Kirk Hunter - Guarenrius violin romantic

I am playing the nylon string guitar and via my keyboard controller the flute, choir, solo cello, and the solo violin.

I think I am as old as you cause all I want is "just the facts ma'am"....this is so peaceful...it doesn't strike me as "Lost in the Wilderness" but more like "Interceding Calm" or "The Dawning"...it is calming and relaxing to listen to...thanks Mario for a few moments of tranquility...there you go I would call it "Tranquility" or perhaps "Protecting the Innocent"...oh! oh! I know "Mind Your Own Business Dan"

Mario, this is why one cannot say "this is
the best one yet" because in your case almost happens every time, so I won't say that. Simply Fantastic!

Hi Mario ..,.

Really, really tranquil and mesmerizing. It sounds like it could a backing track for a scene from a Disney movie. besides the tranquility, the feelings I'm left with are innocence and peace.

Simply gorgeous. A tip of the hat for an excellent work.

Indeed, if I ever do get lost in the wild while hearing this, I think I will be in peace with it all ;-).

But this is really beautiful, Mario!

Seems I'm still young...no idea what you're referencing to grin

But, this is a wonderful instrumental song, perfect for meditation and to come down after a hard days work.
I like it. A lot!

Very relaxing, Mario, and nice use of the nylon guitar. Very realistic midi instruments!

THis reminds me of the calm that comes over one when they realize they are lost, and after the initial panic..... they sit down, gather their wits and formulate a plan.

As someone who trains to find the lost and the missing.... we actually teach young children to "Hug-A-Tree" if they ever get lost. It lets us find them so much faster. Hug a tree..... or in other words...stop moving around..... stay dry and stay hydrated and stay in one place.

This is a very peaceful song you have created. That last chime note is when the dog licks your face and you know you've been found.

Boy, another fantastic one Mario. If you've missed anything it could only be the title. It seems to be the consensus, me included, that if I were lost in this wilderness I wouldn't want to be found anytime soon ... I like it a lot!

Actually Dan you have come up with much better titles than mine.

Thanx for listening and commenting.

Thanx for noticing the nylon guitar. I'm still learning how to make MIDI instruments sound realistic so thanx for noticing that also. Much appreciated.

Beautiful piece Mario. Very nice listen. The nylon string arpeggios were really cool. Harp like. Love the quote from Joe Friday. :-)
Posted By: musician17 Re: Lost in the Wilderness - 08/03/22 03:23 PM
Ok. One of your best, straight from the off. The low flute is just magic, and the orchestration sublime - and I mean that. Pure magic, purely sublime. Forget alpha waves, this is a theta or even delta wave creator. Superb.

The B major modulation at around 2:10 ... ahhhhhh :-)

and the return to D major at 2:30 :-)))

Is this track for sale, anywhere? I'd pay for it, honestly. I've had a busy, stressful day, and this calmed me down on the spot. And no wonder, since it's so well written, produced and performed. I'm just going to have to bookmark the link and come back to it, right? :-)

Sincerest, sincerest congratulations.

Mario,

Beautiful (as are all your new-age offerings).

Excellent job with the controller.
The nylon sounds good (well recorded!)

Good mix.

Magical, mystical, ethereal, tranquil. Deserves a place on a soundtrack. Well done.

Thanx Floyd.

I used a cheap piezo pickup on my $79 USD nylon guitar. The original sound was very thin and tinny. It took EQ and reverb to get it sounding like it does unplugged.

Beautifully done! This could be used as a soundtrack for a scene in a period piece, lovers in the twilight.

Mario,

Yes, I am old enough to get it! Man do you know how to create a beautiful piece of music! The soundscape created here just carries the listener away to another place, and a good place I might add! I love every part of this!

Thanks, Torrey

You drag a good net Mario.
This is a good one - you've come to grips with life without the wind controller.
Posted By: Sundance Re: Lost in the Wilderness - 08/05/22 09:59 PM
So pretty and soothing.
I've only been lost in the woods once.
Otherwise I loved walking in the woods.
when I lived in TN. Down here I'd
be afraid the gators would get me.
Just lovely.

Thanx Ray. I'm slowing coming to grips with that pedal board. Right now it is about 65% live and 35% editing but I'm sure with more practice that will improve.

Thanx Josie.

We used to take walks in the woods but since my wife broke her femur right near the hip (they still called it a broken hip) walking is hard for her. We don't have gators up here, the taxes are too high for them!

The name of the flute sound says it all ... fairy tale.

In addition to the woods imagery Janice said she could picture a ballet scene.

No exceptions here Mario ... beautifully performed and produced.

Yes I've been lost many times in the woods, even in a familiar place. But I wouldn't feel afraid if I listened to this calming masterpiece there. The instrumentation is superb, excellent work with all the beautiful details of the mood.

Great film score type work here man.

Hypnotizing--and beautiful.

Your best work so far IMHO.

You should definitely put this in a film score library or two.

And yes, I change chords to protect the innocent all the time.

Thanx so much David for that fantastic review. AS Wayne and Garth might say "I'm not worthy" of such compliments".
