Hi, Chad. I think that most of the results could easily pass for well done pop music. Heck, it took me a minute to notice when it got to the end the music and started playing the next song. As to how we can use it, I'm not sure. That's pretty much how I felt when I first heard some of the examples as well. I feel there could be many uses for it. I'll say a bit more further down in my reply. For one thing, no output generated by an AI qualifies for a copyright. That means that anyone could strip the vocals off your song, replace them with another vocal, and there's nothing you could do about it. Very true. I can see where some people might absolutely hate that. I'm not entirely sure where I fall on that yet either. I'm still trying to figure out where that line is as far as at what point is actually something you could copywrite. I've read some things that were somewhat vague. I'm wondering if that's on purpose? Any insights on this? I know you're researched it A LOT, which is greatly appreciated. These programs have been trained by crawling through the internet and violating copyright, so ethically they're a mess. I think people who think these programs are "creative" fail to realize the massive amount of data that is used to train these programs. Programs like Midjourney process billions of images. Think of how many country songs these programs have been trained on in order to get flawless steel guitar licks. This aspect of it has me go back and forth a lot. I feel I know your stance on it from what you've posted. I think we would disagree; and I'm ok with that. I know you are a great guy, who puts a lot of thought into what you are saying, and it comes from a place of truly researching this subject...you're educated. We've just arrived at different conclusions and I completely respect yours. As a songwriting tool, they're meant to replace the musicians and composers. They do too much to be an idea generator, because in the end, all you're doing is assembling a collage of ideas that were generated by the AI. This is truly astonishing technology, but they're one-button solutions designed to replace composers, musicians, and mixers - not tools for songwriters. As of now, I would say it's definitely not there yet. Having worked on these projects I learned a lot...especially the limitations and annoyance of having to figure out how to communicate those ideas into something useable. Even at that, after the fact, I still had to do a fair amount of editing to get to somewhat work. Sure, the sound might be mostly right, but the structure, and uniqueness of the song have a long way to go. I do think the will definitely be closer to if not, exactly what you are saying down the road though. I'm sure you already know that though.

Rharv and Brian. your replys are much appreciated. i dream of how to get classic rock tones in my sleep...drives my wife nuts...lol. Rharv. i would probably just rent the gear as and when i needed it if high priced gear was used to get that classic tone. a trick i saw once in a studio was to put the electric guitar through a bass amp with a few pedals. ive seen some really funky stuff in studios...lol. Brian. thats highly weird you mentioned the tonex cos just today i was looking at that product on you tube...honestly.. as well as ik's axe interfaces. the problem ive found with lots of the modern stuff...and dont get me wrong.. but when i'm like a mad professor creating songs fast as the song ideas come flowing fast...ive found going through lots of menus that i find so many tones i like its difficult to make a decision. for example some of the modern guitar products that offer thousands of guitar tones/settings require an app on a cellphone. a nice idea but with my vision (now better after eye surgery) i find i get tired easily. it would be great if i could...like the pg picker just enter a classic rock song name...and there it is...the classic rock tone and me drooling with a big smile on my face...lol. the other thing i'm carefull of is some modern products ive tried try to control the user which drives me nuts..etc etc. thanks i'm gonna investigate tonex more. happiness om ps mario...thanks. nice to hear from you. your songs are genius....i will investigate the freebies further from ik.

a little rt wish ... .re gear used. It's obvious that a lot of the pg rt's are created by highly skilled session pros. and from session pro's ive met in studios in the past i realise some might not want to divulge their 'tricks'...totally understandeable… but for example if possibly some of the pg artists might divulge the gear they used in their bios…that would be very nice. particularly for users new to creating songs. ie a learning tool ?...as in learning from the masters ? maybe it's a big ask…just an idea. e.g. I created the stallion song in my sig cos…. I discovered one of mike durham's rock tone rt's one day by accident ... .ie a classic rock tone. basically i dont like rock tones that are too fizzy or too clean. mikes rt i found got me soooo excited i created the stallion song just to showcase his classic tone and guitar talent. happiness. om

These lines are highly visual and I felt like I could almost reach out and touch the fireflies. Then when verse 2 came along... when the full moon is shining bright that’s when my spirit takes flight walking through a field of silver dew with every step my soul renews

Well, gotta start with the question, what kind of guitar are you using to feed said effect? Strat? Les Paul? Yamaha? RT? ... Hardware or software FX? You gave a lot of info about what you like but very little to actually help someone suggest something .. what do you have to work with? /that said, I doubt he gets that sound with budget stuff, unfortunately

Also... If you record yourself humming a melody in BIAB, it's possible to transcribe that to MIDI using the Audio menu option shown below (#2). I have a reply from AurallySound who also say panning can be an issue and Take Five is panned strongly: I took a listen and expected it to do considerably better than it did. My guess would be the rather unusual panning of instruments (the center is really open (!)) is quite different from the rock/pop songs used to train the stem separator. Will training does do some dynamic re-panning it doesn't do anything as extreme as pushing the drums so far left--perhaps something to look into. Take Five was recorded in 1959, so could have originally been mono limited stereo. That they expected it to do better is encouraging, though some other tunes I tried were also less than brilliant.

this looked promising however the download password protection scheme failed me. The PULSE application would not accept the serial number that was provided. Waste of time.... Register with PULSE then Register with WESTWOOD and still no technical support to get an answer. Edit.. Nevermind... Download our free ROOTS libraries with Native Access. Add the serial key (found in your purchase email) to Native Access to download and register the library in one step. Do not attempt to download via Pulse – the serial key will not be recognised! This is interesting. I have had no problems with Pulse thus far. Note that I did not DL Roots as Swam just updated there solo strings and they sound great. Couple that with my other string libraries and I have better sounding strings then Roots, however others may find Roots very good.

Actually, even though the styles are somewhat limited, you can enter a melody and have the MELODIST feature REHARMONIZE. Make sure you uncheck "Generate Melody." Give it a shot.
