Hiya

I'm using Band in a Box 2017 Everything Pak, yet when using style picker I don't seem to have all the styles I should.

For example; EVERYTHING JAZZ Ultrapak=1849 found=1708, Bluegrass Ultrapak=211 found=192

I've tried rebuilding the list but it makes no difference.

Any ideas?

Maybe cos you havent bought the bonus packs?
Go to stykepicker and under Other you can see you can select styles that are n/a.Someone mentioned recently that one of the colums tells you where they came from.

Yes, PGMusic's pak listings are very confusing, especially to a new purchaser. Most of the time I get confused on what is included in each pak. The key is to look at what each pak contains and go from there. BUT regardless of what you buy there are always bonus paks to get. I wish they would stop the bonus paks and include everything in some of their paks. YMMV

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Perhaps PG Music could list the Bonus Paks and their contents so we could see them and buy what we might have missed. This is particularly needed for those who recently bought BIAB and never had the opportunity to order these paks.

Mario, Wendy, Uke - I've added this to the Wishlist. Perhaps give it a +1.

If my assumptions* in that post are incorrect, I hope PG Music staff will elaborate.

F, I don't think she put the negative connotation in there that you did. We users know that some of the Bonus Pak material has been added to the 'regular' collection. We just don't know exactly how much.

Take a look at this Wishlist post. It seems to be getting a positive response. http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=391966#Post391966

No im not being negative at all. If i was, I'd say so myself.
Ive got BB for the first time and im loving it. Everyone has to start sonewhere.
So if there are some extra old packs listed that are still around id be interested in getting to read details to make my mind up.
WendyM
Now all i gotta do is find out how to make my endings stop when i want them to.

I think that was cleared up. We didn't think you were negative at all. Your good question did lead to my posting in the Wishlist to know more about what might be available.

I normally do not use the program's 2 or 4-bar endings that are the default. I do what some users call 'roll my own' ending. I use a hold on the last chord (three periods after the chord name). Be sure the measure number for the end of the song is many bars beyond, so the hold can die out. I generally put a 'stopper' chord after the fade should have stopped, to be sure. Use a different chord - any chord - from the one being held and put a single period after it. Then change the final bar of the song (which BIAB puts there by default) to also have a single period.

Bwahahahaha.... Ok, Ok... sorry... yeah, the name would imply that the kit has "everything" in it, and most people would believe it. And for the most part it's kinda true. Almost.

PG is always working on new stuff and they just happened to release a bonus pack recently. Probably too late to include it in this years "everything" pack. Those styles and tracks and extra bonus things will probably be included in the next "Everything pack" but, most likely, by then, PG will have added more tracks and styles and things and have a SUPER BONUS EXTRA pack on the market which will also be an additional pack you can buy because it's not included (as of that time), in the current (as of that time) Everything pack....

follow what I'm saying?

As Matt, Herb, and Mario said...there will always be some lag between the commercial packages and what is going on on in R&D. Every year I marvel at the huge developments being offered. It is amazing!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
