Dr, Gannon,
I see an upgrade is available for Realtracks only (PlusPak-$99) but none for MIDISuperTracks only. Thus if one wants only the MIDISuperTracks one must buy the UltraPlusPak, which includes all the RTs. My question is why isn't there a MIDI only PlusPak? This could be a download only with the docs in a PDF file. I know that would be the upgrade that I not only would buy but one that I could afford this year.

Thanx in advance for your time.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

I was just thinking that the super Midi tracks are a perfect candidate for a standalone product! There are still plenty of people who prefer MIDI, and the high quality of the Super Midi tracks totally qualifies them to have their own unique spot on the shelf!

This sounds sensible to me, Mario. There are many here who concentrate on MIDI, with which BIAB can do amazing things.

+1

Mario,
That is a great idea. We will get on that.

It's a shame that you didn't get onto it a little earlier following Mario's wishlist request earlier this year:

http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=359518#Post359518

I purchased the PlusPak this year in the mistaken belief I was getting all the upgrades and that the only difference between that and the UltraPlusPak was the external hard drive. (I've accumulated so many of those I don't need any more!)

Now I find I have 200 more real tracks I will rarely, if ever, use and have missed out on what I really wanted, the new MIDI Supertracks.

Richard,

Keep in mind the 30-day money-back promise that PG Music make. If what you purchased does not do the job, simply contact PG Music staff. They will help you sort it out.

Over the years, I've been incredibly impressed by PG Music's customer service. I've never seen them take advantage of anyone. Quite the contrary. They are very generous.

Regards,
Noel

Thank you Noel,
I am well aware of PG Music's money back policy. I first purchased BIAB in the mid 1990s and have been upgrading almost every year (and mid-year when available) since then. I am more than happy with the program and have no intention of seeking a refund.

The point I was making was that, in the thread I quoted, Alyssa from PG Music replied that the suggestion was an "excellent" idea and that she would pass it on to marketing. Now, months later, Peter Gannon agrees it is a "great idea".

I would have been happy to forego the 200 realtracks and still pay the $US99 just for the MIDI Supertracks. I purchased the Bonus 49-Pak just for the MIDI Supertracks it contained.

I am sorry if I gave the impression that I thought I was being taken advantage of. That is certainly not how I feel. Like you I have a very high regard for PG Music and its customer service.

Regards,

+1 For some more Midi Super tracks. Maybe even a Mid-Year Midi Pak. Might be good to use with future XTRA Style Paks (would certainly expand the possibilities).

ps. I love many of the Realtracks/Realdrums but also like to incorporate midi, find it gives you lot's of options (particularly if you have quality vst's)

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
