After selecting 'add vst plug in' my menu option it shows amplitube3.dll file. After selecting it the amplitube3.dll file cannot be loaded as it returns an error 'program libiomp5md.dll is missing'
Web searches indicate this is a registry problem. I have run a registry scan/repair program but nothing has changed. I am unable to find this program on my computer or the E drive using the search facility.
I have been to the Nikon site link and downloaded winthruster but no results.
Do I have to get this program from PG? Not quite sure where to turn next. Note that I did have fx up and running several days ago but not now.
Hi Noel, Directory pathway is Ultra Pak E >VST Plugin (folder) > AmpliTube 3
No it isn't loaded. When I select and click 'open' on Amplitube it returns the error message 'Cannot open because libiomp5md.dll is missing. Reload this program'
It sounds like you might need to install Amplitube.
Unless I'm misinterpreting something, it sounds like you are trying to run it directly from the PG Music USB drive. I'm not sure that that's possible without installation.
When it's installed, you'll need to register it with IK Multimedia after installation.
When the Amplitube is installed, it will create a folder in 'Program Files (x86)' on the C: drive. This is where you need to load the dll from.
Below is a link to a thread on Amplitube that might have some useful information for you.
Hi Noel, Well I'll have to work right through that thread link. But I have found a series of installers in the PG Music folder that was referred to. Loaded all of those and that has given me fx listing. eg PG chorus etc about ten or so of them. At the bottom is 'add vst plug ins' and again when I follow that route I get the error as previously detailed. However the thread mentions authorisation via IK multimedia so I will look in more detail at that and get back to you. (grandchildren duty calls) Thanks, Pete
After installation, you'll have to contact PGMusic for the Amplitube authorizations, because IK-Multimedia has moved to version 4, which is 64-bit, and you won't see the old 32-bit versions in your "free" account anymore. However, once you get the code from PGMusic, register it, it will show up in your account.

It would be nice if the Amplitube presets could be updated to work with Amplitube 4. Of course, you would need jbridge to use it, as it is strictly a 64-bit plugin.

Well I'm certainly exploring areas I never knew of!
Have gone through authorisation process IK media, got all the free stuff including Amplitube 4. But I understand this is 64bit and no use to me?
However looking in the C:\ program (86) folder/IK media/amplitube I find Amplitube 3 already sat there with another .dll file, namely libsndfile-1.dll.
When I go back to Real Band it still will not load vst plugins, same error message comes up.
I have done a search in IK media folder for the libiomp5md.dll file but no result.
Some progress so thanks for that. Any other thoughts?

Side liner: These problems always seem to pop up with copyright protected stuff; hacked software (and also plugins) bypass these protection schemes, and users of those often run away laughing. F.i. recently i bought 2 legit windows 10 pro licenses, and one office 2016 too. These licenses worked for a while, and all of a sudden not any more. When you call their support, the only thing they come up with, is wanting some guy (in India?) to install and get teamviewer access to my PC; my foot ! Went back to Windows 8.1 and original bought Dell license on my laptop, and my old indestructible Office 2011 bought way back, both licensed thus the old fashioned way (?), feeling ripped off by MS. ... Just stepping back a bit so that I can get a better picture in mind (at the moment, I can quite get a clear picture of your problem in my mind)...
In your original post, you mention that you had the FX up and running a few days ago but they stopped.
Am I correct in interpreting this to to mean that Amplitube used to work but doesn't work now?
If that is correct, was there anything obvious that happened with your computer or BIAB after which it no longer worked?
For example, an update of Windows, an update of BIAB, installation of antivirus software, change of soundcard, etc.
Also...
You mention that

That's how is stands on my system, too.
Just to check how you load Amplitube into Realband.... what I do on my system is to...
1. right-click on a track (#1 on image)
2. select "Open VST/DX plugins config..." (#2)
3. click on the top effect slot (#3)
4. click on the "Add VST Plugin" (#4)
5. Navigate to "c:\program files (x86\IK Multimedia\Amplitube3" and load the file "Amplitube3.dll"
Hi Noel, Thank you for your patience on this issue. Yes, my process is similar. When I said they had some fx loaded I meant the ones similar to those shown in your screenshot ie. 'pg chorus'. Which will change my recorded audio. I have assumed that vstplugins would give better results to enhancing a vocal? Perhaps I have this wrong? I got Amplitube 4 loaded and that was all about electric guitar sounds/simulations although the quality seemed poor on my set up, lot of hissing.
I have taken screen shot in sequence. As I click OK next error window shows.(sorry, file manager says it exceeds size of 2MB. so I can't show it you.) I then get a further two screens ending up saying 'amplitube3.dll is not a valid plug-in'.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
