I have a bass track I'm trying to align to the original music. Used the chord wizard to establish the tempo. Created a click track from the metronome dialogue. There is a pop up about it having to be C notes. Tried to change it to "C8" notes. Chose my audio track, chose "align music to click track". Seemed to work, but have no effect on my audio track. Help please. Thank you.

Did you create the new Tempo Map using the original music, or the bass?

OK, really, basics first; what is the 'original music' and what is the 'bass track'?

Is there any correlation between the two?
Was the bass recorded along with the original music? Or (?)
Since this is the PT forum I assume nothing was 'generated'.

If they are still separate, and in SEQ file format with the correct Tempo, I might try opening the original, then using 'File-Open-Special' to load the bass and see if PT offers to adjust it for you.

Load scrap puts it on your clipboard, and then you need to Paste it where you want it, in case that's not obvious.

Otherwise, what specifically do you have to work with?

May be a matter of just highlighting the bass and using CTRL + click/hold to slide it where you want it. Without more detail, hard to say.

I load the original song. Then use chord wizard to establish tempos, including hitting the F8 key throughout. Send back to PT.
bass track was created earlier along with original music, then saved to a midi file.
Load seq containing tempo and original song.
Load midi file containing bass. Render midi track to audio.
Go to metronome and create click track.
Highlight bass audio track and hit align music to click track.

My first guess is that the MIDI file of the bass track is using the Tempo of the original MIDI file (possibly a guessed or default setting) and is not correct, just my first hunch. So when you import the MIDI, the Tempo tries to adjust to the new Tempo you set for the original song project (using the ACW) and the MIDI gets all out of whack

*Maybe* try opening the bass MIDI file by itself, converting it to an audio file first, then 'import' that audio bass track file back into the original song project as an audio track, instead of a MIDI file (?).

If you haven't messed with the tempos too much beforehand, you may be able to highlight it and 'slide' it to where you want it after you import it and make it work.

Maybe I'm using the wrong tools. What I am trying to do is get the bass notes to,line up with the timing of the original, song. The bass notes I played are not consistent. Any advice?

Depends on how far off you are.
Maybe you can import the MIDI and quantize it to the original song's tempo map.
Lots of ways to try it, I'd need to see/hear it to say the best route.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
