Realband 2010 Build 4
Windows 7 Home premium 64bit

I have 36 bars, 4 bar intro, then 32 bars A and B sections. I generate realdrums "Bossa then Swing". Bar 4, 12, 20, 28,34,35,and 36 are blank. Tried this several times with the same result. Thought maybe this realband file got corrupt, so I opened a new instance of realband and re- entered my chord progression. I had the same result. I tried all variations of bossa to swing, sticks and brushes, all with the same results. I then tried some of the other bossa realdrums and they generated just fine. Do I have a corrupt realdrums file? It's 2:30 am and I don't feel like deleting and reinstalling this realdrum style right now, just to see if that fixes the problem. Any ideas? Thanks, Bobby.

Hi Bobby,

Have you tried generating the Realdrums on a new and different track? I've found that sometimes if something doesn't go right, generating a new track on one of the non-BIAB tracks does the job.

Regards,
Noel

Yes Noel I have tried different tracks. I had the same issue in BiaB when I generated "Bossa to Swing" on someone elses midi file. I didn't think twice about it since I didn't know what might be in the midi file. I have now been working on my own realband arrangement with no midi and no Biab tracks. I should also mention that I purchased the "everything pack" during the Xmas sale so I have the latest updates for the realdrums. I also did a first time install from DVD's onto a brand new computer. I'm going to give support a call...Bobby

Hi Bobby,

Have a look under "Opt >> Preferences >> Arrange" and see if "Insert Breaks (silence) in arrangement" is checked. If so, uncheck it.

If the above didn't solve the problem, I'd try "Opt >> Return to factory settings". I'd choose the top option for the first reset and the bottom option if the top option did not work. BIAB will keep your original settings so that you can return to them if you wish. If you do a reset, close down BIAB and reboot your computer just to make sure that the reset sticks.

Noel

I just spoke to support. They were able to recreate the problem. The listed solution-download and reinstall realdrum updates. I did this, but the problem persisted. It will be turned over to the main tech guy on monday. I would like to take this opportunity to say how pleasant and helpful PG tech support is. I have every confidence that they will work to resolve my issue. Thank you everyone...Bobby

I called support again today, to add to my file, and be a little more concise with my problem. When I generate the "Bossa to Swing" realdrums it gives me a blank bar wherever I have a part marker. In other words, no fills for the transition between bossa to swing or swing to bossa. It does however generate the Bossa and swing patterns. This only happens in Realband. It works perfectly in Band in a Box. Anyone else want to try and duplicate this?.....Bobby

Yes every measure before a part marker be it blue or green is silent as in no drums.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
