I have a song that is exactly 120 bpm. Is there a way to slow the song down to EXACTLY 110 bpm? or do I have to experiment. (Want to keep pitch the same). I will ask in Power tracks forum as well because I think it works like Realband

That is quite a bit of change
Change the tempo of the seq file and pay attention to popup questions regarding audio tracks

There is also a right-click option to pitch shift and tempo change on a track

Make your sound your own!
.. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Rharv, back me up on this assertion, but I think it's also contingent on what the track is made of. Some of the Real Tracks sound HORRENDOUS when you get outside of a certain range of BPM. They are listed with a min and a max and that is for good reason.

Rharv is a great source for BIAB/RB stuff, despite being from that state up north...

I think we need to shift some of this Buckeye Nation angst to the east in light of the Sandusky conviction. Can you imagine being the new coach and trying to recruit after all of this?

I am using the new 1040XTRAEZ form this year. It has just 2 lines.

1. How much did you make in 2023?
2. Send it to us.

I am not using any real tracks.
I just put a wav file in and wanted to slow it up and play melodic chords to it with guitar. I listen to the original (although slow) track to get its "emotional feel" and play guitar lines that would work with this. I would then erase the warbly wav file and add a few more of my own tracks (or maybe realtracks). I also want to give the singer an idea of how it would sound slower with a different arrangement with a similar feel. I don't know if that make any sense but when I get ideas that I can't figure out, I will ask the forum.

If you select the entire audio track and then right-click on it there is a menu item called "Time Stretch and Pitch Shift Selected Audio Tracks" which has an option to change the tempo. I think that is what you are looking for.

Hi Kristen,

As ED has said above the Time Stretch function is what you need. I do this often but I usually need to shift pitch without changing the tempo or length.

When you right click the track and select the Time Shift option, be sure to uncheck the "Pitch Shift" enabled box so that the pitch of your Wav file stays the same.

Don't change the percentage options, just put 120 in the "Old Tempo" box and then 110 in the "New Tempo" box.

I tend to use 8-Band_Sum or BANDSUM_HYBRID as the "Quality" choice but I'm not an expert on these settings. I read my manual and thought they sounded right. Maybe someone here can enlighten further on these options.

Hope this helps

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
