Macbook, running OS X 10.13.4 BIAB version 2018 (258) Preferences 1 Audible lead in is checked Volume 5 Instrument=hand clap Pattern 1-3- 1- - -the reason I listed the above settings is that No matter what my settings are, I get Volume +-20 Instrument=side stick Pattern 1-3-1234
I click OK, which is the only logical option and none my new settings are saved. I regenerated the song, no new settings I restarted BIAB, still no new settings are saved. What’s going on? For reference a second Macbook computer running BIAB 2016. Ver.(146) OS X 10.7.5 no problems.
You have a few years on me—I'm 64. We are bound to know many of the same people. Morgan Hill? I'm in Sunnyvale now but have lived in the Valley since 1969.
In the '70s, my college girlfriend was a flautist who had gone to Live Oak. Until my stroke, I played in the South Valley Symphony off and on beginning in the 1990s. Until last year, I played occasionally at Morgan Hill Presbyterian as a fill-in with the praise band.
BIAB 2023 Audiophile, 24/60 Core M2 Mac Studio Ultra/8TB/192GB Sonoma, M1 MBAir, 2012 MBP Digital Performer 11, LogicPro Finale27.4, Dorico5, Encore5, SmartScorePro64, Notion6, Overture5
Are you using MIDI drums or RealDrums? The reason I ask is that most of those settings only apply to MIDI drums. If you're using RealDrums, you get whichever count-in the drummer played while recording the RealDrum.
Kent, I use RealDrums in all of my songs. Here's what i have discovered regarding my audible lead-in.
At some point in Biab updates the icon in front of the files changed from a blue/black/purple guitar player, OLD ICON to a gold/black/white sax player, NEW ICON
When a song with the OLD icon is loaded, the lead-in to that song plays to whatever lead-in preferences I have selected.
When a song with the NEW icon is loaded, the preferences are ignored.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
