When It Rains It Pours
(Seen On A Box Of Morton Salt)

I contacted Synleor, makers of Visual Vox and Harmony Improvisator (my letter below) and I received this wonderful reply today. You can bet that I will be promoting PG Music products every step of the way.

What do you think, my friends?

Dear Don,

Thank you very much for your message. Synleor is more than happy to support your project!

It sounds like a fantastic thing and I am sure that many people who are in similar situations as you will greatly benefit from what you do.

We would therefore like to provide you with free copies of both Harmony Improvisator and Visual Vox.

The following promotional code will give you a 100% discount on the purchase. So please go to our website and follow the standard purchasing process but make sure to fill in this code in the respective field. With that you should get both for free. If there are any problems with this procedure please let us know.

Your code is: XXXXXXX (Masked)

We would be very interested to hear from time to time how you are progressing with this exciting experiment.
Please feel free to contact us any time if you have any questions.

We wish you all the best for your project,

Ruth

My letter to Synleor:

Name : Don Gaynor

E-Mail : XXXXXXX (Masked)

Subject : Experiments In Speech Synthesis

Message : I am a mute as a result of a stroke. I communicate via a DynaVox speech synthesis device. I am a composer and formerly a singer/guitarist. I am striving to convert digital speech from my Dynavox into some semblance of singing. Are you willing to support my experiments by contribution of your Visual Vox and Harmony Improvisator software in exchange for my promotion of your products through the U. S.Veteran's Administration?

Dynavox is preparing a "Success Story" about my life and I am confident that you would benefit from the positive exposure. Additionally, I have the support of Dr. Peter Gannon of PG Music, creators of "Band In A Box" music composition software. I am confident that SYNLEOR would tangibly benefit from my experiments.

Thank you for your consideration.

Donald J. Gaynor, Sr.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Dude, you are totally pulling this off! I'm impressed! You set a crazy 2-part goal then went and accomplished stage 1 already!

Stage 2 will be the song with vocals. Can't wait to hear the first one!

(Does this mean the jokes will have longer spaces between 'em?)

Projecting forward, I can see it all now:
"Don? You mean Don Gaynor, the guy who made
all those platinum hits based on synthetic voice
and Band In A Box? Yeahhhh, I knew him when
he was still talking about it...

Oh yeah, we're good friends"

pat, you are a nut!

as of today, v.a. prosthetics has not even placed the order yet. how do i get him moving?

yes, i'm excited about the prospect of singing (of sorts) again. maybe these products are not the answer i'm looking for. in that case i'll go to melodyne and see what they will do to support my experiments. can't hurt to ask.

incidentally, my friend, you are still in the loop with your melodyne support offer.

by comparison, these are probably kids toys. i'm not sure until i tinker a bit. based on price, under $200.00 for both, i really don't expect to be another caruso. possibly robinson.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
