The name of the band is weird enough.

In French a pamplemousse is a pineapple.

Of course a moose is a bovine canadian icon, pomp comes with circumstance and a spade is a spade. (it might be a shovel upon exaggeration)

Too much gear. LoL.

Nice to see what can be done "outside the box" , using affordable "vintage" equipment, the high tech of the internet, a savvy marketing idea (doing covers of current hits to attract attention to their original music) and of course some talent thrown in the mix.

Gives hope to all those who wonder if they have a chance to turn their love of making music into a money making career.
Sure beats mowing lawns and tarring roofs, especially in FL.

Thanks for posting.

Really cool, thanks for posting this.

Of course the real key to their success is they're a family so they keep all the money. That's a time honored tradition. One thing I was always looking out for back in the day was to marry a good girl singer but it never happened. Me working with a 5 piece band, if we make $500 I go home with $100 while this group gets to keep the whole 5. You can make it on that and it allows them to learn and expand and do all this cool stuff. Somebody's a pretty good musician too. Check out the arrangement on Beat It. That's not a stock cover at all, there's some very good musical bits in that.

Ditto on the "cool" factor.

I think one of the key reasons for their success is the lady's voice. It's got a very unusual and very addictive quality.

It makes you want to keep listening, ... or at least it does for me.

Thanks for the link Mike.

These folks are not the only people doing this. It's actually become quite a bit of the 'formula' for the new music business success. Pray for viral videos on YouTube. Once the number of watches gets high enough, the Youtube ad revenue starts to flow.

Record companies become less and less relevant with the ability to broadcast oneself via the Internet.

Exactly, in many ways nothing has changed at all. This is a serendipitious blending of all the elements necessary for a good commercial act now or 50 years ago. A talented musician with a cute girl singer and there's real personality in those videos. Nothing new there but no doubt the internet is what made their success possible. In the old days these people would be left with trying to get on Ed Sullivan or the Tonight Show. Good luck with that.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
