This is a request for photos and permission to use them in a video I'm putting together for a new tune.

What I need:

Military celebrating christmas on deployment.... gifts from home, pictures on a desk of loved ones, cards on a string.... makeshift decorations, christmas parties over seas....reunion with family at depot or train station or airport. unique and interesting photos from the front lines.

I also need: family setting for dinner at a table, with an empty chair at the end.... candles on the table, and a father figure saying grace at the table.

If you would like to help just PM me and I will get you my email address.

Herb

Are you looking for free photos? Be aware that some photographers will react to that request in the same way some musicians would for free music. But, I wish you well in your project.

I have 2 weeks to get this done.

There are other sources for royalty-free pictures. I have some that came with editions of graphics software along the way, just as they also contain clip-art. If you have a desktop publishing program like Page Plus or Photoshop, look in some of the accompanying libraries. Often the biggest headache is that they aren't indexed well, so finding a specific topic is time-consuming.

Herb,

Since Colorado Springs is populated by about 25% military (Air Force and Army bases), our local paper is pretty well stocked with military articles and photos. In fact, there's a section 'Military Life' that comes at least weekly.

Good: Images are not owned by the DoD
Bad: Images are probably owned by the Gazette.

I don't know what they would charge you to use them.

http://gazette.com/military

If they charge, you might also check in with them to see if there are stock photography images that THEY buy.

Three years ago I made my own DVD documentary with many pics, narration and a 35mm movie contribution by a Brother Marine about my time in hell....about 35 minutes.
I wrote/used one of my own songs on the soundtrack being 'Just Do It' which is on my s/click page.
Personally, my DVD is far too serious and took me two years to finish it.
Quite the time vampire to get it to my satisfaction.

So, I'm merely curious if someone actually desires to contribute to your endeavor I'd have a few questions.
How would their contributions would be represented as in:
What is your mission/goal with this project?
What is the song about...the genre, etc.?

Good luck with your project.

Carry on....

Let me look to see what I may have that would fit this. It sounds like a GREAT project!

(ok, I just posted this because I read your comment about statistics...thought it would be funny. I hope you see the humor. If not, I apologize. I know what you mean and share your frustration! Did I "get ya" or did you see it coming from a mile away?)

With laughter smile ...Caaron

I get it now.... so.... here's my reply....

This was a while back....but here's how it turned out. Lots of the pics are from my own family and from my nephew who has done a number of tours "over there" in the desert and Afghanistan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNknV1GhFMM

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
