I wrote and posted this song originally almost a year ago. I finally got around to redoing it. I added a little more orchestration, and some subtle percussion enhancements here and there, and a total remix. The foundation of the instrumentation is RealTracks. All the orchestration/percussion is done with Miroslav Philharmonik. I hope you enjoy it!

All Alone

Here are the lyrics...

All Alone
Music & Lyrics, copyright Stephen W. Young

She is sitting in a dark room
She is hoping he will call her back
And she smiles as she remembers
All the things he said to make her laugh
All alone again
Waiting for a friend

He is sitting in a small room
And with a grin, he softly speaks her name
And he's staring at her number
And he wonders if she feels the same
All alone again
Hoping for a friend

The paradox of young love
So insecure
Yet full of hope
And feeling sure

He is standing in a big room
He is thinking back to long ago
And he smiles as he considers
Everything she does, her love to show
All alone again
Together, more than friends

Steve,

I really like the melody, love the lyrics.
This is/was not easy song to sing, but you mastered
it beautifully.

The background music is great, especially like the piano
as a "counter" to your vocals.

Steve, I spend over an hour checking out my "balances"
and I was in complete error. Somehow one of them got changed.
Been set that way for months, all of a sudden the balance was
changed, no one else in the room, so had to be my mistake.
Sorry bout that.

Again I "view" this as another production. The music being the soundtrack,
and your lyrics, vocals telling the story.

Very nice !

Frank,

Thanks so much for your kindness! Glad you like this one. (I am really glad you found the problem with your "balance" in your system.)

Thanks again!

Steve -

Exquisite. I love the fact that it's different, not the standard AABA/Verse/Verse/Chorus/Bridge.blahblahblah.......

This is definitely soundtrack stuff – I would pitch this one for placement. Thanks for posting this.

Bob (Can't remember if you're Bob1, Bob2, or Bob3),

Thanks so much for your comments. I need to learn more about how to pitch my music! I've had several people recommend that I pitch this one. I just don't have a clue who to go to. I may check out Taxi, just leery of having to pay so much to be able to submit. Anybody have any success with Taxi, or any other methods like this?

Thanks again!

Steve

Steve, it’s all been said.

All I can add is outstanding orchestration.

Two thumbs up.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Steve,

Very nice. Love the melody.
As someone has said, not an easy one to sing.
I think it would sound good in a movie.

I do remember this the first time round Steve.

A powerful song and well delivered.

Clearly a lot of thought and attention went into the composition and this new version certainly does justice to the song.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
