A simple song that happens to be a true story.

You Caught My Eye

You caught my eye
When you walked by
Something I felt
Made my heart melt

It felt so strange
That you could change
What I would do
Cause now it’s you

And when you are gone
You’re always on my mind
I know this love
Will always last forever

You caught my eye
When you walked by
A glimpse of you
And then I knew

Music

Now that time has passed
You’re always on my mind
I won’t forget
The times we had together

When you walk by
What’s in my eye
The girl I knew
Who said I do

Hello Sonny and Daniel,

Your best so far!
The vocal and the electric piano give the song a real Steely Dan feel.
Very cool!

Hi Sonny,

so smooth and relaxing! Daniel did a great job with his vocals and harmonies. The lead guitar is a good choice.

Sonny...

Awesome. Great Pop song. The melody is OUTSTANDING.

Terrific vocals (is there a distortion to them? too hot?)

The guitar solo is excellent (I wish you had posted the RT name - so I don't have to look it up).

Listened several times... excellent song.

Digging your stuff... this one is a hit.

SRP you called this a simple song but I would call it simply perfect.

Everything about this is spot on and pro all the way!

Excellent vocals, backing tracks and lead work.

You two should be extremely proud of this one.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Hey Floyd,
I went back and checked once again for any clipping but I did not find any, then I soloed all the vocals and nothing there, I put everything back as it was and then lowered the main faders so as to bring the speaker volume up but nothing there either and then the last thing I did was take off all the mastering effects on the mains but nothing there. Do you have any suggestions?

Really thoroughly enjoyed this. Perfect selection of tracks. Great vocals and impressive harmonies. The Pad worked perfectly.

What a great melody. Outstanding in so many ways.

Hi Sony. Daniel certainly puts the melody across. So often our efforts are weak in melody. But not here.
A lovely song and i dig the backing. Cheers.

Really pretty ballad - well written and sung.
I am picking up some of the distortion Floyd mentioned in this section but not later:
What I would do
Cause now it’s you

And when you are gone
You’re always on my mind
I know this love
Will always last forever

Can't really offer any suggestions given what you have done to isolate - perhaps it's in the original recording process not the mix or plugins?

Floyd I am still trying to discover the origin of the distortion that you have mentioned and I do appreciate your
feedback. I really like this forum for many reasons for my ears are sixty-eight years old and are in need of assistance every now and then. Thanks for letting me know.

Thanks for the comments Peter. I went back to listen to the original recording (with no effects) and I found all vocals to be free of distortion. I am going to look at one other thing and maybe that might be where the problem lies. If you think of anything else I would appreciate your feedback. I did have on another song where the bass guitar was causing an anomaly with the vocals. I discovered it by muting each instrument one at a time to see if that was causing the strange sound. I had to change the position of the vocals to overcome it. Weird I know!

Sonny, fabulous overall sound. Daniel, great vocals. The guitar solo sounds killer! Your productions have a huge sound. This is the good stuff. Tom

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
