This came me about four years ago, when it seemed to me something big was going to happen, soon. Hope it works out all right, if it does.

The Lord's Greatest Hour

Band in Box. Hank Real. Mute Drums.
No effects, to speak of.

Nicely done Ed!! I see you wrote this one. I believe your last one was a cover of a traditional song. This is well written and sung with emotion. Enjoyed it! Take care. Greg

Thanks, Greg.
Right you are, this one is original. It is a plea for God to
move in a big way. I wrote it with no idea of what was to
come. Probably 2007.
Almost everything else I do is public domain. I make sure to
have the original sheet reprint in hand before transposing
and entering into BB. The first is accomplished by the
the nice folks at pdinfo dot com. There are hundreds and
hundreds of American pop songs in the PD. Many hymns.
I think Stephen Foster is now in the PD. 1922 is the cutoff.
Washington has been influenced by the commercial music
industry to revise the regulations. Still, most everything
is 1-4-5. (ed)

Hi Ed,

I enjoyed listening to this. The melody appealed to me greatly. And as Greg said, your singing overflows with emotion and sincerity.

Regards,
Noel

Well done, Ed. This sounds like a song from the depths of where Country music originated. - fj

Nice! Shows that you don't need a lot going on instrumentally if you have a good song to begin with. Well written and I like your vocal too.

Stephen Foster is in the PD and there are many post 1922 songs for which the original copyright (if there was one) was not renewed. We found many like that and confirmed that name artists have used them as "traditional." It is nice to see folks turning to these sources. There is a LOT of spiritual and blues material in the PD...and spiritual and blues were certainly closely linked with African-American and white songs of that era. Pardon the ramble!

We enjoyed the song. Minimalist productions always appeal to us.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, ears, hearts, and minds, for the listens and supports.
With respect to PD, or any other song that can qualify to be
used without reservations, I found that while permissions for
CD cover and release are fairly routine ( Is it the Harry Fox
Agency?, ) when it comes to video, an entirely different story
emerges. The requirements start with, basically, "Get a lawyer."
That is understandable, but by no means does that make it less
complicated. In mot cases, a contract is required. Let's not be
misled by what we see on YouTube.
Now and then, movies like "Brother, Where Art Thou," come along.
I can only guess that most of the songs, though preformed by Union
Station, were common use, pre 1922.
Thanks, again. (ed)
PS I just went to Harry Fox and see that agency has made huge strides in the direction of synch (movie) licensing. My knowledge is dated. Still, it is in our interest to stay abreast of developments. It can be cut throat out there. I have heard of famous talents being locked out of their own hits.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
