Hi all, I think this song was on my Soundclick page the first time I posted here a long while back. And it was the constructive criticism and valuable advice from those on here that prompted me to go back to the drawing board - or recording board - and try and improve my sound. I still haven't gotten around to recording all directly to the PC yet, so still not using Reaper. But I'll get there. So this one done old stylee! This is an example of what I explained elsewhere on here about starting with a song title. A guy at work had been actioning our work diary and told me: "I've got the diary up to date but I haven't got as far as tomorrow!" Great title I thought. And here it is. All comments gratefully received as always! Dig this one Martin. Especially the line:
"She nailed my pride to the floor"
By the way, what's that hollow-body you're playing in your avatar photo?
Regards,
Bob

Thanks for the comments Peter! And thank you too Josie - glad you like it! Hi Bob, and thanks. Yeah I like that line too. Straight from the heart that one! The guitar is an Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor. Always loved the look of this type of guitar so bought this about 10 or 12 years ago. Think I've played it about half a dozen times since then. Have decided to sell it now - it seems a shame to have it sitting there going to waste! Not a great guitar, but a nice sound in the right hands!

Nice one Martin, kudos. I am reluctant to offer advice on such a good performance, but have you ever thought of singing with a wee bit less American twang. You have a good voice but sometimes the country twang sounds a little overdone at times to my English ears. A more natural accent may be better (unless you're a Texan living in Surrey of course ), then it is ok )

Thanks for posting this song. I dig it. I especially like the line:
I'm making plans to deal with today
But I haven't got as far as tomorrow
Cheers,
Superbron

Nice song, and I like the way you conceptualized the theme and adapted the lyrics to a catch phrase. Very cool.
I think you have a very unique vocal style, which is highly desirable for recording. I didn't realize you were a Brit until I saw Sinbads comment about your accent. But in my opinion, in the world of music it is OK to embrace a theatrical approach and wear a mask.
Do you perform regularly, or are you a hobbyist or strictly interested in recording? You strike me as somebody who has been doing this for a while.

EXCELLENT! I like the "break" in your voice, it adds an unique flavour to the song, by unique I mean I distinctive. keep them coming

like gibson, i too was impressed by that "break" in your voice which makes it unique and distinguishable, the sort if thing that sets you apart from the crowd. it's a great "signature characteristic" that can identify you to your audience...that's a good thing. nice job.

Martin, Very nice song. You just keep getting better and better. Very good lyrics, and nicely done. And this Texan thinks your voice sounds okay (no offense, Sinbad). Keep up the good work! Steve

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
