Sad Eyes is a song that started out in a completely direction but as I kept adding instruments it morphed into this.
I used BiaB’s Float1 – New Age Soundtrack style for this with a 40 BPM tempo. The backing tracks are pretty much as is with the one exception being the percussion. That I did modify quite heavily. I am playing the wind controller for the string and flute parts as well as, of course, the guitar part.

Let me know what you think – Thanx MarioD

Hi Mario,

Like so much of your music, this sounds like it should be attached to a film. Sitting back in my chair, eyes closed, I found the experience of listening to your song very soothing and relaxing. It was a shame I had to open my eyes a come back to reality.

All the best,
Noel

Mario - this is a really nice piece. I hear music like this quite a bit because my wife has a yoga studio and is always looking for the right music for her classes (her "yoga soundtrack" so to speak). Or for the meditation class. This piece would fit either function nicely.

I'd say you need to put together a hour's worth of things like this and "market" it as a meditation CD (perhaps you already do that).

Ennio Morricone as I live and breathe! I adore his music so I found this piece a real treat. Well done Mario, very nicely conceived, arranged and executed.

I’ve been on a photo shot vacation/holiday so I apologize for the late response. FWIW I will listen to and comment on other’s music very soon.

I would like to thank all that listened and left those very nice comments.

John, although I do not agree in your Ennio and my music comparison I thank you very much for that comment as it is a great honor.

Floyd jane, if your wife wants my music let me know and I’ll put together a CD for you.

Very soothing Mario. I really like the "bubbling" guitar sound very pretty tone and ambiance.

Mario, my friend, in a word...beautiful! It belongs in a very romantic soundtrack. I really enjoyed your wind controller proficiency. Your guitar work is always top shelf. Thanks for sharing.

This was great...I always learn so much listening to the creative ideas from this community...thank you for presenting this...we hear lots of great conventional-type pieces, but ones like this show how inventive people can be with a great tool like BIAB. I started this reply 20 minutes ago, but drifted off into the most peaceful sleep I've had in a year while I was meditating on the music!!

Thanx Josie, F.M.M., Don and Tano for listening and the very kind words.

Josi, I’ve never heard my guitar playing called “bubbling”!

Don, I’m still struggling with the wind controller. Not a whole lot of time to practice right now!

Tano, my main use of Biab is probably a little different than many other users. Although I do use BiaB with “conventional-type pieces” I am a guitarist who loves new age synth style music. I have a lot of Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, Isao Tomita, David Arkenstone, etc records and CDs. I guess I’m just a little weird!

It seems to take Brian Eno's "Music for Airports" one step further. Very relaxing, yet very interesting with the guitar parts and all. Outstanding work. Some parts could have been used in the movie "The Godfather" it seems to me.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
