A work in progress... I'm going to try to record the Lead vocal again - BGVs to be redone for sure.

I believe the lead vocal is maybe too up-front - this is just a headset mix until I can plug in my monitors later this week.

JESUS IS ALL THAT I NEED

In troublesome times, God gives us a reason to sing
His grace is sufficient for trials tomorrow may bring
Godʼs Word has not changed, and His love's still the same
I know that He careth for me.
No evil can harm me when Jesus is all that I need.

Why should I worry, when Jesus is all that I need?
Surrounded by angels - I'll follow wherever He leads.
"I'll never leave, and I'll never forsake thee"
This is God's promise to me.
I have no fear, for the Lord's always here -
Jesus is all that I need.

This world's not my home - and I'm gettin' ready to leave
To a place that's called Heaven, He's prepared for those who believe
And I'm satisfied that the Lord will provide
God's been so faithful to me
Each day I'm rejoicing when Jesus is all that I need.

(Chorus)

(TAG) I have no fear, for the Lord's always here -
Jesus is all that I need.

Heʼs all that I need...

Hi Curt,

I think this is a good Gospel song.

The one little nit I have is the mixed language styles in the lyrics - "careth" formal hymn type language and "gettin'" informal country Gospel language. So it's confusing me what your song wants to be - hymn or song.

The message is good, your singing is fine and it's going to be a solid song when you're finished redoing your production as you stated in your post.

It'll be even better, imo, if you'll straighten out your lyrical focus. For example say "cares" instead of "careth". If you disagree please just disregard. It's only a suggestion trying to help.

Thanks, Josie for the tip.

I am going to add that to the list of "fixes". I appreciate ANY constructive help from anyone. There are many great resources/talented musicians here.

BTW - I'm wide open to any suggestions to help me with BGVs, as I've always admired your work in that area. That seems to be what I am struggling most with.

As with any song posted - I feel honored when others listen, and even more so when they comment with great suggestions.

Thanks Again!

Curt,

1st of all good song and the vocal is right where it has to be, keep it front and center. Other than this Josie said everything else I was thinking.

Keep up the good work.

I agree with Danny and Josie.

This is a really good song that only needs a touch of polish and that polish is what Josie suggested.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.
