Funny thing about this one was, I am a 60's Child and I mixed it old school
in the box which was not a lot of fun. Wow! how we miss the old time sound but got to love modern digital mixing, never got off my butt to turn those knobs.

Amen!

Greetings fellow 60's child, I am like you I much prefer the digital mixing domain, Old school is not bad as long as you don't have to edit tracks much. This was a great piece of instrumentation; thanks for sharing!

The folks above said it....but I like the way things build and, wow, what a choice and mix of RTs. Really nice.

Hey, I mixed and spliced tape in the 60's. I found it even at my much younger age to be TEDIOUS. Particularly doing those backward guitar things.

Hi Digital Angel,

Great stuff! Like others before me, I really like the way you develop the arrangement and the emotional contour of the overall dynamics. A terrific listen.

Noel

Hey thanks for your ears. I've been trying to pay attention to the bottom end in my music, which is were the emotion really is. However, it can be tough depending on the instrument groups used.

In this song the drums have a pretty big reverb in them so I worked on making a special folder of Drums with the Audio Ph... Ver of drums .wav instead of the .wma ver that came with the new ver I have (2014). At anyrate, trying to gate the RT drums didn't quite work the way I wanted so I played around with the lower eq and removed some of the reverb that was present.

There was the limits of eq back in the days so to pull back on the 20-20
was a tricky matter. As you do the mix starts to sound well (60's) hence the title of the song, true to the era! Panning was also big as mono signals was all the rage. It still is but with all the toys we have why not break the mold and do what you please.

Until our next breath see you soon.

DA,

As has been stated, a really good use of mixing up the RT's. Nice sound. Very much enjoyed it.

HI Da...

What a super groove! We love songs that build in layers, a little at a time. And Minor Blues songs are so ripe for that. And when the electric piano came in, this thing just flew of the charts! The distortion guitar ain't to shabby, either!

Very nice, indeed! Best to you...

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
