A draft mix... edits still needed - less cello & maybe add some strings? but wanted to post in case I don't get back to it. I've been seeing some great Christmas music here in PG land already & wanted to jump in !

THE WONDER OF CHRISTMAS IS JESUS
copyright (c) 2016 Curt Young

Long ago, and far away
A King was born on Christmas Day
A Gift sent from Heaven to Earth
Still He lay with Virgin mild
A mother and her Holy Child
While angels rejoiced at His Birth

(Chorus) The Wonder of Christmas is Jesus
He is the reason we sing
Wise men still bow down before Him
To worship the Heavenly King

Shepherds wached while angels sang
All the bells of Heaven rang
To welcome the Child in the hay
Wise men travelled from afar
Following the Shining Star
That stood oe’r the place Jesus lay

(Chorus)

Tracks used: 2557:Cello, Background SlowWaltz Sw 085

My eldest son played the piano part - and my daughter-in-law was kind enough to work up a scratch vocal for me.

Suggestions are welcome! Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Curt,

You have written a lovely Christmas song here.

I particularly enjoyed the vocal from your daughter-in-law and son's piano work.
Christmas is a family time so what better than to enlist some family help for your song smile

Enjoyed it,
Jez

Thanks, everyone... I appreciate the kind reviews.

Bob, Jez, Rob & Anne-Marie - Thanks, and I might say again that I have really been enjoying the Christmas songs you all have posted lately. Such a great variety of talented musicians and writers here. The Dutch second verse to "Silent Night" is pretty cool, too.

Scott, Torrey - very much appreciated!

Mr. Jane - I am always appreciative of your comments. You are one amazing writer, sir - and I am thankful for all those here who take the time to listen & offer help and suggestions.

I have been wanting to write a traditional Christmas carol for several years, and finally got around to it with some encouragement from my Granddaughter. I am blessed.

Merry Christmas to All!

Hello, Curt

I agree with Jez.
You have written a lovely Christmas song here.
I also very enjoyed the vocal from your daughter-in-law and son's piano work.
I have loved American Christmas songs very much from my childfood.

Merry Christmas to you from Japan.

Very pretty Curt!! I still haven't written a X-mas song but this is very inspiring. I like the arrangement-maybe a few more strings at the end would be nice. Nicely done all around! Take care. Greg

Shigeki - What a privilege it is to post music that gets to the other side of the world. Thanks for listening!

Greg, I agree that additional strings would work for this. I haven't had great success with getting the sound I want, but will add a few and mix with monitors when I do. Putting together a Christmas song is something I've always wanted to do. Thanks!

Very nice work on a traditional Christmas song.

I'd bump the vox up a few dB and call it done.

A new write that immediately sounds like a classic!

A very nice production with the added value of family participation.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
