Hi, ol´friends ! As I am still struggling with my singing I decided to try and redo an older piece that I originally wrote in 92 and which was on the album of that same year ! I guess it is a bit anachronistic to put up a summer song this time of the year as we are still so far away from it with temperatures around + 3 celcius, but I assure you that the lyrics are describing a summertime up here in the North with wonderful weather and warm water - a weather that we get to experience at least once a year for a longer or shorter period depending on how far west the Siberian Highs will go !:)) The Style is POPJZSW.STY and the instros are: Bass: 034, Piano:2198, Drums: LAPOPJAZZLITESW, Guitar: 1228 and Synth: 1840. Solo: Fender Mexico. The links are: http://soundcloud.com/user-337827005/a-summersong-finalhttp://app.box.com/s/y87g0amjdi309uxqukcpooixezlhpj5sand for comparison , here is the original track: http://app.box.com/s/28k0vhwrx0te0ymbhpyqn0du3whzn1bv...and the lyrics are as follows: A SUMMER SONG (Music and Lyrics by Dani) Now is the time for us to hum or sing a summer song because the summer´s here awaited thru all winter long so throw your undies long and winter boots in a carton because she comes again to every shack and den Now is the time for us to push the boat back to the sea and let all dreary thoughts of winter melt away, you see how nature´s green is popping up from every cleft and tree because she´s here again just like a long lost friend wild and free! At the beach all the kids are at play it is so sweet to be down there warmer water to swim and to spray and softer winds for us to share Now is the time for us to throw away all clothes we wear and jump into the warmer water in the nude so fair because the summer will be leavin´when the time is there she comes and goes at will until she´s got her fill She´ll be here !!!!, ……solo Now is the time for us to lift our voices in her praise because the Southern winds are reigning in a leaner pace we should not worry if a heat relapse will hit our face it won´t be here to stay so fast it goes away Come what may !!!! Everyone´s on his way to a pool to catch that all enchanting tan Oh how sweet change both desktop and stool for just a moment in the sun And when the time is ripe for us to turn around again we´ve been refreshed to soul and body just expecting when she is retiring makes it easier to leave her then because I reassure she´s coming back for sure back again Cheers Dani

Hi Dani, I really enjoyed this. You've done a great job. The relaxed swing style that you've used to back this with is a perfect fit. It's magical. Your singing sounds excellent and your writing shines. The key change also made me sit up and pay attention. This is my new favourite of yours All the best, Noel

Enjoyed it from the first note Dani.
The harmonies worked extremely well, and both the style and delivery were really well put together, absolutely complementing each other.
Another good one, for sure.

Hi Dani,
What a great song! The key changes are great. Modulating keys always gives a song a fresh breath and renews interest. Your vocal sounds great to us. That gentle swing is so soothing to the ears and mind. The speaking part at the end was a pleasant surprise!
A delicious song!

Hi Dani, Nice song, I know what you mean about the voacls, after over 20 years since writing the voice box doesnt do what it used to, however you did a magnificent job.
I expect all you Finns must have a good sense of humour and look forward to the summer coming. Well done my friend I loved the irony behind the lyrics. Paul PS enjoy your summer when it arrives.

Dani, As previously mentioned, the key changes twist the ear in a good way. I always enjoy trying to guess your chord progressions. Most of the time I am wrong. You always make the structure interesting. I like the guitar playing and the spoken word ending. Very creative. Tom

Dani,
I really enjoyed the singalong music and optimism and humour in the lyrics. Listening to the original its interesting to hear the change in your voice.. both deeper and sweeter in the higher register now to my ears! The oohs on the chorus are lovely.

Hi Dani, I don't see a problem at all with your singing, but as someone who is just starting again after ten years I understand how you might struggle with that. I finally decided that since I couldn't go back I just as well start a new chapter and enjoy myself. Your writing skills are right on the mark, I might add. Great job.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
