Blackout Never enough funky songs on this forum, so here's a new one which I have co-written with Miira and we are also singing it together, although not at the same time. RealTracks: Acoustic piano #1576 Alt Sax Solo #1441 Electric Bass #2607 Electric guitar #1435 Electric piano #2526 Realdrums: Bongos, BluesRockFunk x3 Loops: funkadelic_117_perc, hiphop_ush105c_drums MIDI strings (VST: The Orchestra) Sound effects Vocals: Janne S, Miira VMixed in Sonar Platinum Lyrics: My head is aching slowly awakening where on earth am I who is to blame and why? Why is there a hood beneath my head I’m not feeling good I’m not in my own bed Oh my god I can see a pair of boxers next to my underwear.
Blackout so much to know about A total blackout wish I could say without a doubt I had the night of my life that there's nothing to worry about.
Did we do it? was it any good? can’t remember a thing, or kissing, was it smooth? Is it better that I just forget or are you the prince that I've finally met I think it’s better if I just leave sneak out quietly, pretend it wasn’t real.
Blackout...
Nice to see you awaken, I’ve made you eggs and bacon here's a warm coffee cup take a shower, cheer up.
Please tell me why you tried to sneak away you mean so much to me I'm begging you to stay I want to tell you each detail face to face, my heart won't hide behind a veil like a dream, we spun as a team the devotion's wheel beautiful and real.
Blackout...

What an exceptional write.
This really has extraordinary WOW factor.
Lyrically, this is simply brilliant: I want to tell you each detail face to face, my heart won't hide behind a veil like a dream, we spun as a team the devotion's wheel beautiful and real.
Musically, this is quite fantastic.
The perfect use of the Sax solo adds color. And the percussion at the start of the songs sets us up for a wonderful music adventure.
Extraordinary.

Hello, Janne and Mira
Very nice melody and vocals! The melody has plenty of characteristics of Jeanne. As Trevor said, the perfect use of the Sax solo adds color. And the percussion at the start of the songs sets us up for a wonderful music adventure. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

This is a fabulous track, guys. How did you get such a 'BIG' sound? The chord changes are terrific, along with the big fat rhythm section, I loved that. Also some very clever 'ear candy' touches! A very accomplished track in all departments.

Wow - this one knocked it out of the ballpark! I love both of your vocal deliveries on this one. The whole tune flows immaculately, from the groove to the melodies to your vocals. The incorporation of the saxophone really helped add another layer of vibrance to the tune. The whole things pops in so many different ways. Really well done - thanks for sharing
Cheers, Deryk

Great sound, super mix.
Two thumbs up.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Thanks VideoTrack for your kind words and WOW, it really makes me happy I'm glad you liked that lyrical part, I tried to be poetic in that part, because it was my vocal part and it gives nice contrast to the more mundane words in the female parts. Nice to hear that you noticed the bongos at the start, I needed a smooth transition from the sound effects to the song itself and bongos really helped to achieve that goal. Janne

The big sound, I guess that's because I generated 3 times the same drum track (one for kick, one for snare), as instructed on this forum Also, the use of T-Racks 5 One as the master effect really makes things kick! Janne, This is... Everything about this song and its presentation is exceptional. The writing is very strong, the arrangement is first class, your and Miira's vocals are superb, and the production is spectacular. It's a huge and very enthusiastic one-man standing ovation from me! Definitely one to be proud of! All the best, Noel

Thanks David, I appreciate your kind feedback I have used your(?) tip to use three tracks of the same drum for thicker sound, maybe that's why the mix may sound perfect to you Janne

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
