Lots of real life to keep me busy these last few weeks but managed to update this one from 2012. Written by myself and Jackie Richter. All suggestion welcome. Vic Bass 520 Drums Nashville Outlaw Guitars 1120, 4034, 412 https://soundcloud.com/vic-arnold/big-dreams-and-cold-beer?si=e7c8a03f9a10406caef2d0bb8b0ecf61&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharingBig Dreams and Cold Beer © 2012 Jackie Richter & Vic Arnold It was Karaoke night at the old Tin Can. In swaggered a worn out cowboy man. He said I'm giving up my singing career and get me a job where the pay is clear. I smiled, said, "Son we don't serve that here. Just Big Dreams and Cold Beer." Chorus I said, "Big Dreams and Cold Beer. The sky's the limit if you believe in it. You believe in yourself you can get it all here. Big Dreams and Cold Beer." He said, "tell me bartender what am I doing wrong? I'm just a country boy singing my songs. I'm never gonna be a big country star if I spend my life working smokey bars. I wanna see my name up in lights one day." Well, I just passed another cold beer his way. Ch. Inst. When that cowboy stepped onto the stage we heard nothing better from a guy that age. The crowd went wild as he lived his dream. All the men whooped and the women all screamed. Pretty lady at the bar who looked real sad said, "I'll have whatever that cowboy had." I smiled, said, "Momma you can get that here. Big Dreams and Cold Beer." Ch.

Well, we loved the Waylon vibe from the gitgo!
The fun lyric had us clearly seeing the smoky bar and the folks in it.
Good one, Vic!

Vic, this has Waylon written all over it and that is a compliment. Country at its absolute finest. Super vocal and mix. Loved it!
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Wonderrful bouncy tune, Vic. Cool title. Sometimes it's the cold beer that brings the biggest dreams. Lyrics flow so well, and I like how you had the guitar responses. Good harmony.

Vic, a fun and funny tune! The band sounds great, especially the picked rhythm guitar. My only suggestion would be the vocals relative to the rest of the mix. Sometimes the end of a phrase drops down and gets overrun by the band. I'd pull your vocals slightly forward in the mix, or use gain staging on select phrases, etc. Or change nothing, and it's still a great tune! If you're using a BiaB instrument for the picked rhythm guitar, it SOUNDS like you're using holds and shots to great effect. I do that a lot with BiaB, but it's hard to get it to sound this good all the time. If it's a "real" guitar, then it STILL sounds great.
