Who said that ukuleles are just for happy, silly, upbeat tunes?
Ukuleles can be very expressive. They can convey happiness, but also sadness, love, reflectiveness and so much more.
Well, this is what I think.
This is another ukulele song of mine.
It starts with the uke, and then ... things happen smile
It's about saying goodbye, losing something or someone.
But it's not a sad song, actually. Or, at least, I don't think of it as such. To me, it's about that sense of "sad but serene acceptance". Does it make any sense? Not sure. After all, I know nothing about this song. I just wrote it. Songs belong to the listeners smile

(by the way, BIAB helped me with the drums and bass here)

Lyrics:

YOU’LL BE GONE

When the moon is high
when the wind is strong
you will set your sail
and you'll be gone

When the night is warm
when the days are long
you will touch my hand
and you'll be gone

Like snow in the spring
like a thunderstorm in july
like a river suddenly dry
I'll realize the time has come
and you'll be gone

When your eyes are clear
when your arms are strong
you will say goodbye
and you'll be gone

I'll see rain in the sun
I'll see icicles melting away
flowers blooming just for one day
and I won't be afraid when the time will come
and you'll be gone

Like snow in the spring
like a thunderstorm in july
like a river suddenly dry
I'll realize the time has come
and you'll be gone
