Build 326 of Band-in-a-Box 2011.5 available

http://www.pgmusic.com/support_windowsupdates.htm#326

This patch will update Band-in-a-Box to Version 2011.5 build 326 from any 2011.5 build. It must be installed into your existing Band-in-a-Box 2011.5 folder.

This is considered a beta update because it is new. The most recent shipping build is 325.

You need to have both Band-in-a-Box and Band-in-a-Box Server closed prior to installing this update. Band-in-a-Box Server is the process that interacts with remote apps. To close it, right click on the icon (white and green musical note) in your task bar (bottom-right of your computer screen) and select Exit.

Note: If you are updating a hard drive edition of Band-in-a-Box, be sure to select the correct destination directory - either X:\bb (where X is your USB drive letter) or X:\PGMusic\Programs\bb if the hard drive was purchased prior to September 2009.

Looks really good. Thank you, Peter.
Love the style search. Are we going to get this for RB?

Yes, the plan is that it will show up in the next patch of RealBand
This is great stuff, Peter -- appreciated.

But still no fix for the Conductor midi keyboard control bug. See Kent for details.

Thanks.
Installed the beta and found the filter to perform well. This is a major step forward. With all the content upgrades to Real Tracks I hope to see continued development of search tools down to the individual instrument level - perhaps integrating style and instruments into a single tool.

Great to find a company that listens and responds so quickly to customer needs.
The new filter is really useful, thanks Peter!

Would it be possible adding the same filter to the Soloist Picker Window? Actually is the only one that not have such a filter, and each time I'm going to select a soloist, I go to the "RT picker Window", make the search there, write down the desired RT number, and locate it by its number in the Soloist picker window.

Thanks again
I have just installed Build 326 and I am a little disappointed with the style filter.

It does not display any third party styles if you filter the "All Styles" category and only a few of the third party styles if you select "Other Syles Found" while filtering.

I have hundreds of Norton, Hawkesford and LR styles and the only way to get the filter to work for these styles is to select each third party category separately.

I realize this is something to do with the .LST and .LS3 files etc and I could spend time editing these text files but would it possible for the filter to search all these relevent files at the same time?

While I am on the subject of the style list here is a question I have asked several times before. Why does the "other styles" category, list every "other" file twice? This has happened over several BIAB versions. The "a_found.ls3" text file has them listed twice so I tried deleting this file but BIAB keeps regenerating it with everything duplicated every time.

Thanks
Tony

Third party styles are supported, and the search filter works for them. You are referring to the category "All Styles", which is a list of all PG Music styles. Perhaps the maker of your third party styles would make a single category for you in a .ls3 style, that would be "All X styles", where X is the name of the vendor. Then at least you would see them in a single list.

Not sure why you see styles listed twice in the other styles, mine just get listed once.
Thanks Peter

I was hoping for a search filter that would automatically look at every style file in the BB folder rather than having to first click on the PG "All Styles" category plus each third party category in the stylepicker. I guess I'll have to do the work and create my own an "All third party styles" category ls3 file.

I still don't understand why "other styles found" lists every style twice on my two computers running XP and Win7. I will solve it eventually.
