I know this is probably a dumb question but I'm stuck. How can I still play a softsynth through BIAB when playback is stopped? I want to enter chords through a MIDI keyboard and hear what I am doing. Currently, I have to hit "play" and then I can hear my softsynth playing on the "thru" part. It's almost like the audio engine stops when BIAB is not playing the chord sheet. I searched through help but I couldn't see what I need to do.

Thanks,

Hi RodM,

If using the "Use DXi" checked, with a DXi softsynth, try checking, the "Route MIDI Thru" below that and at the same time, highlight the Microsoft Software Synth in the window above.

There is also a way to use the DXi synth on the Thru, by using ASIO sound drivers.

Sometimes you have to hit Play and then Stop at the beginning of a session to get the synth's attention, but after that it will play by itself.

Hi Mac,

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a shot!
