I've really enjoyed the new Sample Tank sounds included in BIAB 2013. They sound better to me than Coyote Forte. I'm particularly fond of the electric bass and organ sounds, as well as the nylon string and classic rock electric guitar sounds.I'm thinking of possibly purchasing the Sample Tank 2L from IK Multimedia. Has anyone had anyone success with it?

Thanks

Frank

Yup. Already upgraded. Very happy.

Be sure to check the Sampletank offerings on the IK Multimedia site. They offer a nice set of additional voices in the free version of Sampletank.

Frank,

I recently bought a number of sound packs for SampleTank from eSoundz.com (they had some amazing specials). SampleTank is excellent.

I'm not sure if you're aware of the following so I'll err on the safe side and mention it. SampleTank doesn't operate as a general midi syth, such as Coyote, although it can (nearly) be made to do so if you use the collection of sounds called Omnisynth 2 (see eSoundz.com). Also, the folk at PG Music have made it very easy to use SampleTank with the "HiQ" process. For sounds outside this process, though, it's necessary to individually set-up SampleTank as a VST on tracks that you want to use it.

The below link is some information I put together on how to set up SampleTank with Omnisynth 2 to get General Midi (like Coyote).

Noel

Just installed Total Studio 3 Bundle last night as a matter of fact. I'm still copying and making backups of the DVD's (actually just copied DVD's to USB drive and ran installs from there) and my music folder. Amazon has the boxed version for $299)

I already liked some of the SampleTank "stuff" (just wish the damn interface was built for people with NORMAL, let alone my aging, sight!) and at end of December bought more than a few of the Sonic Reality Xpansion paks (should have waited - because I now redundantly own about half of the 15 paks in the TS3 bundle as well as SampleTron - oh well my own fault)

Yes, I'm now offically drowning in VSTi sounds (I already had Dimension Pro, and a lot of add-ons, and Garritan GPO, JABB, and just picked up IO, World - and got Classic Organs out of that deal for free- and a few other Softsynts)

It will take a months just to sort through some of the acoustic sounds to find sets of "favs" and get them in a logged/referenced so I can FIND them when I go looking for a "vibraphone that has a just that right muted but edgy sound" or a "flute that is soft but has bite," etc.

Same problem I have on HW synths - I lot of sounds but trying to remember where I last found that "bitchn' 2 am in the mornin' moody muted trumpet sound" can be a PITA if you don't organize.

I really only got TS3 because I simply wanted the Miroslav Philharmonik but for twice the price I got it and all of SampleTank sounds and Amplitube 3, and T-Racks deluxe and a few other things - so I did a "what the hell" move.
