BIAB 2013 freezes at bar 8 1st time GenPlay is activated. Click on GenPlay again and song plays fine. This occurs about 85% of the time irrespective of whether it's a new or older bb file and with any styles. Anybody seen this and/or have an explanation? prior cold boot makes no difference.

Strange behavior indeed. If it occurs on more than one song then Reset to factory setting. If only on one song, redo it.
Hi Rick,

I've never seen this and I use BIAB 2 - 3 hours most days. What antivirus software do you run?

Regards,
Noel
I haven't seen that either. A couple of quick reactions:

1. Unless you have your BIAB files on an SSD, try defragging your hard drive.

2. That song file might be corrupt. As was asked above, does this happen on any other songs? All songs?

3. Are you up to date on program patches and RealTrack updates?

4. Did you try Opt., Return to Factory Settings (also suggested above)? There is a BIAB file that can become corrupt and will be fixed by doing this.

5. Have you downloaded and run the free DPC Latency Checker? The fact that it stops at a certain point sounds similar to problems such as a spike from polling a wireless network every 30 seconds, stuff like that. The DPC Latency Checker will show you quickly if you have this kind of problem.

6. Can you post the .SGU or .MGU song file for us to try? Freeze it first.

7. You can always give PG Music Support a call. Good luck.
Thanks for the timely responses. Opt / Return to Factory Settings seems to have resolved the problem. As for your questions, I turn McCafee Vscan and networking off while running BIAB 2013, which I've only had for one month. It's a great program! Are there recommended minimum system requirements for BIAB. I guess, as with most programs, more is better! cheers...rick
Great, Rick.

Your system is fine. I run on a five-year old homebuilt Core 2 Duo with 4 GB RAM, so yours is better.

One objective test where we have a bit of knowledge is a free utility you can download called Geekbench. Unless a system has a reading of, say more than 1,500, the user might have to set some of the slow-it-down checkboxes in the RealTracks options for BIAB version 2013. But my system is somewhere around 4,000 (forgot; been awhile) and yours must be higher than that.

Enjoy.
