Matt Finly answered this in another thread, but I'm still confused and that thread was a different topic, everyone was helpful getting me started and locating me songs to work with,

but many times I don't necessarily need to change the key. I just need to get the notation within range of my flute or recorder.

I can transpose in my head from soprano to alto etc but I am slow to read notes below middle C,
with midi in the past in other programs I just raise the whole song an octave or whatever,is there a way to do that simply in band in a box ?,and also is there alternate ways you all deal with this situation?

Hi Kaylen,

Moving the Melody or Soloist track up or down an octave is easily done provided the tracks contain MIDI information. (This will not work for Realtracks.)

Simply follow the 1, 2, 3 & 4 on the image below.

Noel

If I understand you correctly, transposing as you want it is done in
Opt. Preferences Notation Transpose. You might want to play with this feature for a while to see if it has the necessary options for you.

P.S. Noel96 was a little faster and shows a different way.
