I am too embarrassed to say how long I have been fighting this problem today, but here is the situation:

All I want is for BiaB 2013 to transpose one measure from an Em chord arrangement to a F#m chord arrangement, keeping all the rhythm section the same. It just won't do it for me. The chord box will show the F#m chord, but it still plays the Em chord and all its arrangements. I just want to transpose one measure and its holding on to that Em like a bulldog.

What am I missing?

Thank you for your help.

Is the track frozen??

I am going to look into that right now, but I have changed the arrangement, added bars, deleted bars, and so far the only thing is this one measure change.

This is just so weird as I transpose any acquired midi files back to the original keys. For me, its simpler if someone wants to come sit in or jam. Horn players love it too.

I don't remember having this problem before. Its only a 12 bar blues, but I like the arrangement and hate to mess with it. I just want it to do that one measure with an F#m as the 5 chord.

Thank you for your fast response.

If the problem persists then upload the file and let us take a look on our systems.

I don't see how to upload it to the forum. Is there a way to e-mail this .mid file?

Carl,

You will need to host the midi file offsite (someplace like Dropbox, Skydrive, etc.) then post a link to the file so others can download the file.

If it's a MIDI file that is your source and you just loaded it into BIAB, then everything from that file is now on the melody track. Changing the chord for one of the bars in the chord grid won't change any notes on the melody (or soloist) track, only on the other BIAB tracks.

Assuming that is the case, then it seems to me that the easiest thing to do would be to edit the individual notes on the melody track and must move them up one whole step (thus changing from Em to F#m).

If that's not the case, and it's a true BIAB arrangement, then you should just be able to change the chord for that bar from Em to F#m, but you're going to have to regenerate the arrangement to get the change to take place, which would be similar to what you have now, but with some differences.

You could also take your file into RealBand and work on that one bar there as well.

Thank you all.

I think I have it worked out now.
