Whenever I attempt to do a search in the help file, with the indexes selected, Biab freezes up?

I have the latest build installed.

Are you running Windows 8.1? If so, this is a known problem that they are working to resolve. There is a long thread on it. I get the same thing on my Windows 8.1 computer; doesn't happen on Windows 7.

In the interim, you might want to try opening the help file directly from the BIAB folder, rather than from within the program. I understand folks have had good luck doing it that way.

Yes, if you have Windows 8.1, I reported this bug. Go to your /BB folder and run the file, bbv.chm

This file acts like a PDF - you can just double-click and run it.

If you don't use Windows 8.1, please reply with your info.

I received my HD today and am installing a fresh copy of all the files to my laptop.
