song is all blues - miles
about 140bpm - from kind of blue

i'm using _jwltxpw.sty for the style. it sounds good
however, in order to get it sound right i have to double the measures for each chord in the arrangement

it sounds fine this way but a 24 bar blues just looks funny.

cutting the tempo in half makes it "fit" the 12 bar but it drags pretty badly.

i seem to recall running into this somewhere else on another arrangement.

is there some magic i'm unaware of?

thanks

From what I could find on the internet, "All Blues" was written in 6/4 (six quarter notes to a bar). The style you are using is 3/4 (three quarter notes to a bar). This means that two bars of 3/4 need to play in BIAB to cover one bar (six beats) of the song.

Also, since bpm is note-based, 140 bpm means 140 quarter notes will play in on minute. This is independent of whether the song is 3/4 or 6/4. (Twice as many bars of 3/4 will need to play obtain 140 notes in one minute.)

So... while it might look like a 24 bar blues progression on the chord sheet, it's actually 12 bars since two bars of chords equals one bar of song (at least according to my research).

Hope this makes sense.

that does indeed 'splain it.

i figured it was the 3/4 vs 6/8.
