(only tried with wave files) I seem to hear little noises when playing back. they are ever so subtle, but seems to be more audible when I solo the bass track? My soundcard is a focusrite scarlett 2i2 Any suggestions?

stratocaster,
Can you please provide some more information? I'm not sure what you mean.
When you say, you've only tried with a wav files does this mean you've loaded wav files into the Audio Chord Wizard and it is these that are creating cracks and pops?
Also, have you tried restarting your computer. I find that sometimes I get crackling sounds and a restart clears that.
Regards,
Noel
If I start Biab and choose new file, and then choose a style (which in this example is only RT) start play back and solo the bass track, I can hear these little clicks.

Try increasing the buffer size of your ASIO driver for the Focusrite
Any idea how I do that :-)

The Scarlett 2i2 and 2i4 do not support the MixControl software (the others do). This statement is from their support site:
To change buffer size and sample rate go to the audio preferences in your DAW (Mac) or press the control panel button from the audio preferences in your DAW (PC).
Be sure you're using the ASIO driver and increase the midi buffer. It's in the DAW usually under preferences> midi as well as audio. Bump them up a bit... just enough to stop the crackling.
FWIW, using the 2i2 in RB, Prefs - Audio tab
If I click the Drivers button, and select Asio, then the Focusrite 2i2, there is a button that says 'Asio Driver's Control Panel'
Clicking this button allows changing Buffer, Bitrate, etc.
If it is set to Max already don't hesitate to try a lower setting also. I have seen it work both ways. Usually the other way (increasing it) but have seen decreasing it remove clicks also .. no idea why .. guess the system just liked it better.

Stratocaster I have the 2i4 interface, had the clicking problem, Are you using win10?
If you are running windows 10 what is the focusrite driver name/number? For that information go to the Device manager, sound/video game controllers. right click on focusrite 2i2 and go to the properties then the driver tab and copy the number into this thread.
My issue was not related to the Buffer or MME Or Asio. It was using the wrong driver. As soon as I updated the driver to one that started with a 3 It was clear sailing.
What is your driver #
Where did you get your win 10 focusrite driver from. I have an old thread that I started.
there is a beta.focusrite. site where win 10 drivers are updated. I did not have any issues using the Beta driver on my 2i4. Others with more expensive focusrite interfaces did not want to us a beta driver.

Correct about the other models. I have several Focusrite Scarlett models, the 6i6, 18i8 and the 18i20. Each responded differently to Windows 10, but each is on a different machine.
On my main production machine with the 18i20, I had tried a driver from that Beta driver site but had to delete it and install one provided by Focusrite Support. My problem was a single click at the start of each song. They suggested it was a sample rate change problem, but I still don't know how that could have been. Anyway, I really like Focusrite tech support and I'm in good shape after following their instructions.
I got my support from Sweetwater, where I purchased the interface. Matt can you share the support phone number or did you chat or email them.
Email. They are very fast to reply. I like using email because the case builds up a permanent history to which they can refer.
But Sweetwater would have been my next choice if they had NOT replied.
Here is the focusrite contact us website there is also live chat. Blinking at the bottom right of the page, can't miss it.

Wow, they need a web redesign ..
Yep, it's blinking alright
It may have been mentioned here already but the 2 main reasons I have discovered that I get pops and crackling from on my Focusrite Pro 40 are the Asio buffer size, often it's too low. Also sometimes the Saffire mixcontrol uses 44.8 instead of the seemingly preferred 44.1 for the sample rate.
2i2 and 2i4 Focusrite interfaces are completely different animals than any other Focusrite interfaces. This issue is totally corrected by leaving the factory settings for these 2 interfaces alone, and just installing the correct driver. Its not a BIAB/RB issue, the cracks and pops happen at the beginning of the playback for .wav, wma, and other audio and video files. (Even soundcloud and youtube.) The problem is Focusrite has the incorrect win 10 driver posted on their main website. (driver created in July of 2015) You either have to get the correct driver from their BETA site, or if you are not sure which driver to use contact focusrite. See my previous post.
Thanks dga.
I haven't spent much time with my 2i2 yet.
Seemed to work OK when I needed it. Nice to have these little tidbits of information to refer to.

You're welcome
I'm occupied by other things that can't be postponed but will get back to you when I've tried out your suggestions!
